3.0 out of 5 stars Useful to help practice the process of reading and answering ..., 6 Sept. 2017
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Useful to help practice the process of reading and answering questions but as CEM will tell you, all practice papers are not endorsed by CEM therefore this is only a best guess of what the test might involve. My main criticism of this book is that the 45 minute time limit suggested is pretty tough, and also there are a number of printing errors (same answer printed twice, confusing text such as the number 1 and capital i looking exactly the same) which are pretty unforgivable.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great product but will darken wood colour!, 17 Oct. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a really good product, goes a long way and does a good job. HOWEVER, I wasn't expecting how much it darkened the wood colour. As it's described as clear I thought the effects would be minimal but this changed bare sanded pine into what I would describe as 'antique' pine, even after having dried for 48 hours. If you don't want to affect the colour of the wood then get the 'Raw Natural' version of this oil instead, which works exactly the same but has a slight white tint to negate any darkening effects.

5.0 out of 5 stars Every animator or character artist should have a copy!, 16 Sept. 2008
This is the one, the daddy, the absolute MUST-HAVE for anybody with an interest in animation, character design, or concept art. Richard Williams is a genius and he shares his observations on the difficult life of a trainee artist as well as giving the benefit of his huge amounts of talent and experience.

This book is full of easy to follow hints and tips covering character posing and animation of all sorts. There's no hiding from the fact that even if you use computers to create 3D animation you still need a solid grounding in the fundamentals of motion, weight and timing and this is what Williams helps to explain. Everything is accompanied with detailed illustrations and sketches to help you work through to basic character setups through to complex walk cycles.

I've seen a lot of art books in my time but this is the one that stands head and shoulders above the rest. Invaluable advice from a master of his art.

4.0 out of 5 stars A handy guide for anyone interested in game design, 8 Sept. 2008
Everyone thinks they have a great idea for a game but few realise that it's a lot more complicated than that. If you're interested in being a game designer then this book explains the sort of complexity and detail required by game design documents. It helps you to think about gameplay mechanics and how to make games fun! Although the design of the pages is a bit busy at times, there's a lot of good information and the references to games are pretty up to date. Overall a good manual for anyone interested in game design which covers a lot of detail but doesn't get too academic on you.
