5.0 out of 5 stars to make you feel like standing astride a field of your fallen enemies, 20 Dec. 2015

This review is from: Purple (Audio CD)
Sublime, anthemic songs, to make you feel like standing astride a field of your fallen enemies, holding an imaginary orange aloft. Baroness have bullseyed what Mastodon have been aiming it in their last 2 albums. Baroness don't quite have the percussive arsenal that Mastodon have, but that's more than made up by the sonic breadth of this album, with plenty of little touches in the mix to make repeated listenings worthwhile. Which brings me to some of the sound issues metioned in other reviews. Being a very bassy album, with lots of elements at low frequencies, the sound can get a little towards the edge of clipping. Best listened to on equipment which handles bass well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Satnav for the price, 1 Nov. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Excellent Satnav for the price. Only reason I've not given it 5 stars is that the default spoken instruction setting gives some strange guidance when it comes to Roundabouts. It doesn't seem to have the facility to tell you to go straight ahead at a Roundabout. Turning left is fine. Going straight ahead it will tell you to "Turn right, taking the second exit.", whereas when actually turning right, it will tell you to "Turn back, taking the third exit."

I've solved this issue by changing from the default instructional voice. I'm currently using one of the American voice settings, Amy 2.0 and that one only tells you which exit to take at a Roundabout, which is less confusing.

Otherwise faultless, don't be put off and feel the need to pay more.

This DVD is just an old promo for Telegames, with short clips of a random selection of games.

4.0 out of 5 stars A comprehensive and entertaining read., 22 Sept. 2010
For anyone considering this book, or it's closest competitor (that I've seen) "The ultimate history of video games.", my advice would be to buy this one. This book gives a much broader story of the development of video games, with much more in depth details of European developments (British, French and the Demo scene are well covered). As well as some things I had not previously encountered (having been a gamer for 30 odd years and following retro games for about a decade), like Hasbro's aborted Nemo VHS based console.

There are a few error I've spotted (The protagonist in Half Life is GORDON Freeman, not George). But a few quibbles aside an enjoyable and enlightening book.
