2.0 out of 5 stars Poor sizing?, 8 Feb. 2015

Seems reasonable quality but poor sizing. Age 7-8 seems more like age 6. 45cm from hem to front collar, and 7yr old nephew's other T-shirts seem to be nearer 49cm.

Daydream Sleep Mask Travel Set
Daydream Sleep Mask Travel Set

3.0 out of 5 stars Useful set, 11 May 2014

Face mask maybe unnecessary but the sleep mask and ear plugs on string are a useful combo. Sleep mask has useful padding over the nose but is tight over the bridge of the nose - needs to be cut slightly higher or shaped to cover the nose. And the string detaches from the plugs but can be glued back in. All in, still not bad for the price though.

Helly Hansen Lifa Warm Freeze 1/2 Zip Turtle - Black Medium
Helly Hansen Lifa Warm Freeze 1/2 Zip Turtle - Black Medium

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality, 11 May 2014

Mainly used for mountain biking under a shell, and does an excellent job although on coldest days need a ghood windproof layer over chest. The Lifa mix seems to make it less itchy that pure merino, if you usually notice that. Collar a little tight but I find others tighter. I use a medium and tend to be a medium in most tops. Merino helps prevent it getting too smelly, as you'd expect. Highly recommended, especially if you can find a deal.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not durable, poor service, 11 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Had two now and both snapped within a few months - in the same place opposite the magnet. Will see if they send another replacement (first was replaced readily) but don't hold much hope so will then request refund.

As for function, is it really possible to tell? But will try anything for various aches and pains!

Update Aug'14 - seller (Golfstoreonline) said they would speak to manufacturer, but silence for a number of months, and they won't offer any consideration as it is outside the 6 month warranty. Also, with the band not touched for a month it started to sweat silicone (appears oily and sticky on the surface), which I understand indicates poor quality silicone which has not been properly cooked during manufacture. All seems to point towards poor quality so may be best sticking to metal versions unless you are willing to replace every 6 months or much less - I believe the product should offer a much longer life than that.

2.0 out of 5 stars Inaccurate blue colour, 11 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Ordered in blue but the one sent is very much baby blue - not very masculine and good job it's main use is to protect the iPod while in my glove box rather than seen out in public! Not worth sending back at the price but will avoid the trader.
Otherwise seems to be made well enough.

THE UNIVERSAL PHONE HOLDER (WINDSCREEN)

1.0 out of 5 stars Wrong image, 5 Sept. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Recently ordered this item but the one received is not the one shown in the photo. I already have one as shown and it works well, but needed one for another vehicle. The phone holder itself is similar and works OK, but the lever on the suction cup is much weaker, and does not create enough force to the cup to secure to the windscreen. Although not affecting performance, the arm does not have a solid plastic sleeve as in the photo but a ribbed sleeve, which helps identify it as the wrong image. For something costing a couple of pounds you may be happy to bodge it by placing some card beneath the lever and plastic mount, but the pllastic may not be strong enough to suffer that for long. I'd look elsewhere.

Avoid. The brush does not stay attached inside the lid, so there is nothing to hold it with. Seller sent a replacement, but exactly the same problem. I think the top of the brush is meant to click into the lid, but not happening. You could bodge it together, but shouldn't have to.

Draper 31096 Interchangeable Hole Punch and Eyelet Pliers
Draper 31096 Interchangeable Hole Punch and Eyelet Pliers
Price: £9.99

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor quality, 14 Mar. 2013

Design generally OK and useful to have the supplied eyelets, but the hole punches themselves seem to be made of tin! They collapse on themselves under any decent force. Will keep if for fitting eyelets, but for punching holes in thick leather belts needs something man enough for the task.

One of those occasions where you get what you pay for. Going back to one with the punches on a rotating wheel - had one many years ago and far stronger.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great, but limited battery life, 8 Jan. 2013
As others reviewing after a good period of time have identified, the battery will not hold it's charge after a certain period. We used it for up to 30 minutes each day and it worked well for perhaps 3yrs, but then the ability to hold a charge diminished very quickly. Even with a minute of winding the handle, or leaving it on a bright window sill for a couple of days, it will only work for a few minutes.

However, for the initial price I reckon I've had value out of it, and didn't expect it to be overly robust. I'm looking to see if I can get a replacement battery, although it doesn't cost much to replace the whole thing (it's listed at about £16 at the moment). Otherwise it's a useful small size, and worked well in areas with good reception.

The description says splash proof - don't expect it to last if used in the shower.

3.0 out of 5 stars Limited function, 2 Nov. 2012
For the price, a good little heater for a small room - used then working at home to save having heating on. I little loud, but that's because it is small so the small blades need to spin fast to push out enough air.

Bit annoying having to cycle through all the settings to select the desired one, and having to explain to others that to switch it off you have press and hold the button.

It may be just mine, as no-one else appears to mention it, but my main gripe is that the thermostat is far too sensitive. When selecting a temperature, the fan will switch on, but off again a few seconds later, and do that repetitively as if the thermostat it triggered by a fraction of a degree change in the room, rather than perhaps a couple of degrees. I therefore have to avoid using the thermostat and lease it running constantly, switching it off manually. It wouldn't therefore be possible to use it to maintain a bedroom temperature at night, but the noise might prevent that anyway - a bar heater may be more suitable.
