3.0 out of 5 stars Not blown away, 26 Dec. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I'm a bit disappointed. My main complaint is that it doesn't go into the songwriting process a lot. There's the occasional mention here and there about it but it's not enough. Why not ask a ton of questions about how Page and Plant worked together? It's one of the coolest and most successful songwriting collaborations in history and it's not touched upon much. Did he employ certain techniques and tricks for writing, like using theory and stuff like that and how hard did he have to work at it to get results etc? Such a shame, those things are a zillion times more interesting than anything else, to me.

Engineers and such will love it though as there's a lot of info about mic placement and other things like that, that generally put me to sleep. But like other people have said, it's not all bad, lots of interesting things here, but it could have been a lot better if the author had run his list of questions by me before meeting Page

4.0 out of 5 stars Great album, 6 Dec. 2011

This review is from: Engine Machine (Audio CD)
This is a really great album and so were their previous two, Exploring Beauty and Knee. Dureforsog is one of my all time favorite Danish bands, very, very good musicians and songwriters that are not afraid of thinking outside the box and combining different genres into their sound. And they're skilled and clever enough to get away with it every time. Really impressive band.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great album!, 12 May 2011
This has to be the best rock/pop album in the world, that no one's ever heard of! It's such a shame, cause every song is amazing. Really great songwriting!

2.0 out of 5 stars allright I guess, but..., 12 July 2010
Troy starts off by saying that this book will teach you HOW to practice. The problem with that statement is that it's not true. He doesn't explain the two most important things in order to improve which are the cruzial facts that you must relax your hands and arms while playing otherwise you can't play fast or improve at all, AND that you must respect and understand muscle memory.
The book itself is pretty uninspiring. Great for people who want to sound like a generic shredder. If you want to create your own cool style I'd skip this book so you don't turn in to a cliche metal player

5.0 out of 5 stars his best solo album, 30 Dec. 2008
To me this is by far the best solo album he's ever done. It was recorded at the same time he wrote and recorded BSSM which to me was his all time high creative peak. It's a little outthere in places if you will but there are so many beautiful songs on here coupled with great guitar playing that you don't want to miss this one. It's awesome!
