Empaths (Pyreans Book 1)
Price: £3.10

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent start to new series, 3 Sept. 2017
Read on KU
Excellent start to a new series. Great world building with interesting dynamics. Only downside is that I have to wait until next year for the follow up

May return to the series when Jane does

Excellent story. Fast but well paced with plenty of action. Well worth reading

sad thing is that as a duology there'll only be 1 more book in the series

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good but poorly formatted, 11 Jun. 2017

Very good information. Good selection of photos many I'd not seen before. Loses a star because of poor formatting.

Banished: A Katrina Baker Novel 01
Banished: A Katrina Baker Novel 01
Price: £2.39

4.0 out of 5 stars Good start to new series, 27 May 2017
Slight variation on the transfer to parallel world theme. Katrina's background and upbringing plays a large part in her decisions. her thinking through things was a bit over done but established her character. looking forward to the next in the series

Kazak Guardians: Book III: Megan (Kazak Guardians Series 3)
Kazak Guardians: Book III: Megan (Kazak Guardians Series 3)

4.0 out of 5 stars A good story but the original was better, 23 April 2017
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
If you've not read the original version then its well worth a read. if you have read the original you lose the first few chapters describing the training - especially how meditation helped and you gain another episode of guarding.

I prefer the original but if this is what it takes to get the follow up book then I can live with it

This review is from: The Last Valkyrie (Kindle Edition)
Good story. Pity about the ending - that took a star away

Strike Battleship Argent (The Ithis Campaign Book 1)
Strike Battleship Argent (The Ithis Campaign Book 1)
Price: £3.83

2.0 out of 5 stars Needs editing, 10 Oct. 2016
A potentially good story that is actually a series of actions scenes with very little linking. The sudden jumps in scene are very off putting and make the book unreadable in my view. Its like being in a permanent flashback in a movie where you see a set of small scenes and you have to create the links.

A good editor - insisting on proper scene linking - could dramatically improve this

Stormworld (The Black Lion Regiment Book 1)
Stormworld (The Black Lion Regiment Book 1)
Price: £5.52

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Military Science Fiction, 5 Oct. 2016
Read via KU

Initially seemed to be a variant of Drake's Hammer's Slammers and Pournelle's Falkenberg series but quickly took on a life of its own. The action is well described without descending into the gory details. The politics are cut throat.

An excellent start to the series. Time to read the next book

Highly recommended

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Urban fantasy with big splashes of really funny scenes, 3 Oct. 2016
Read on KU

Excellent start to a new series. Read the prequel - Drafted by the FBI - first as it will set the context for this book's opening.

The humour isn't as prevalent in this book compared to the prequel but its an excellent story with some interesting character development.

Don't miss this series - you'll regret not reading. Already looking forward to the next in the series.
