1.0 out of 5 stars Cheap and not very cheerful., 7 May 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Well, the only positive thing to say about this, is that it is cheap.
I've had it about two months and already its days are numbered. Twice the whole unit has jammed leaving me no option but to smash
the plastic cup in order to remove it. Small pieces of the cup extensions which fit under the black rubber rim have also been ground
and the rubber rim itself has come loose.

I've only used it to make fruit smoothies, I dread to think what will happen if you try to mix something harder.

My advice would be to spend a bit more and invest in something better made and more robust.

Very disappointing.

Thankfully Amazon.com have finally seen the light and removed this offensive piece of garbage from their listings. Let's hope co.uk follow their lead. Well done to everyone who campaigned against this hate.

1.0 out of 5 stars I'd rather go to the dentist...., 17 Nov. 2009
This review is from: Four Christmases [DVD] (DVD)
.... than watch this again.

In the hands of an able and creative script writer this film could have been quite enjoyable as the two main characters learn to appreciate their families and not exclude certain things - mainly marriage and children - in their lives just because their parents are bad examples of them. Instead, each visit with a parent seems to be a drawn out slapstick or sex joke and nothing else and is just not in any way funny or clever. The characters are universally unlikeable, there's no attempt at character development, the plot contrived, the humour lame or relying on faintly unpleasant innuendo.

Given the cast includes five academy award winners - Reese Witherspoon, Sissy Spacek, Jon Voight, Robert Duvall and Mary Steenburgen - I'm left scratching my head as to how it turned out so bad. What were they thinking of?
