5.0 out of 5 stars Better and better, 24 Oct. 2011
This review is from: Marathon (Long War 2) (Hardcover)
i was already a huge fan of Christian and his books get better and better!

i liked the first book in this series but Marathon is so much better.

another thing i like a bout his books is how you always pick up info on ancient history without it feeling like a history lesson!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good read, 12 Mar. 2011
i was looking forward to this book as i'm Scottish myself. the book was good, and was getting better, which bodes well for book 2.

However, i don't think it was as good as the authors Bretheren series!

Worth a read though!

Hannibal: Pride Of Carthage
Hannibal: Pride Of Carthage
by David Anthony Durham
Edition: Paperback
Price: £7.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!, 12 Mar. 2011
Simply a really, really good book. What i liked about it was that it was from the perspective of a soldier in the army itself and not Hannibal.

Well worth a couple of reads!

Causeway - Shadow Lands (Book Two)
Causeway - Shadow Lands (Book Two)
by Simon Lister
Edition: Paperback
Price: £9.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant!, 12 Mar. 2011
I have done reviews for the other 2 books so only fair this great book gets it's due!

Simonlister has vreated an epic story, he's made a famous story feel and read entirely original.

Book 2 improves, VASTLY, over book one which i thought was fantatsic, especially considring that the author has published these himself.

Get bbok 3 as well...it will save you doing so later!

Haven: Shadow Lands Bk. 3
Haven: Shadow Lands Bk. 3
by Simon Lister
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding!, 12 Mar. 2011
I have wrote a review a while ago about the fisrt book, and just realised i should also do so for the others.

Basically, Simons books are outstanding, and this the final book is great, you generally don't know what/how things will happen.

Great (and un-cliche) characters and a great new take on an old tale!

the only ting wrong with this book is that it ends!

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst book i have ever read, 22 Feb. 2010
Truly the worst book i have ever read, hopefully this book was lost in translation as it wouldn't have been published otherwise.

Really was that bad, mad me angry having to finnish it and only did as i was on a long train journey!

Maybe i just didn't get it...

3.0 out of 5 stars Moments of genius, 4 Feb. 2010
This review is from: Words On the Floor (Audio CD)
Saw Tommy on T4 unsigned and was really drwan to gimme a call and was really looking forward to the album.

I wasn't disapointed!

although there is a couple o fillers this is a good album with moments of genius and Tommy has that enduring quality about him.

The album is worth buying just for the singles alone!

5.0 out of 5 stars Simples...just buy them!, 4 Feb. 2010
This review is from: Shadow Lands (Paperback)
To me King arthur was sean connery running around in tin foil with loads of good looking people, then i read Cornwell's Arthur..which i loved and had less tinfoil and good looking people and was very realistic.

Simon Lister takes Arthur to a new, and very realistic level. when i say realistic i mean the man, not the story, although there are parts of the story (set in the future) which may well ring true one day.

Arthur is flawed, brutal, not easy to like but i loved him and the 3 books.

Each book, the characters and the writing got better and better and i was truly sad to finish the last book, although it surely is only the last for a short while!
