Love all of Anne O'Brien books especially this one. A wonderful love story spanning 25 years with Katherine being a mistress to John of Lancaster and eventually his wife through turbulent times being rejected, bearing his children their love stayed strong throughout, she must have been a remarkable woman.

This story of Isabella gives you a different outlook on this woman, she is a young girl coming to England as the queen in love with the handsome king only to find out he is in love with another and that being a man. Totally deflated she gives the king an heir plus other children and goes through life all alone even fleeing back to France to her brother and there takes a lover eventually coming back home after 3 years away to take charge and place her eldest son on the throne. I have read previous novels where Isabella is classed as a she devil was it true you could certainly understand why. A very enjoyable novel.

An interesting read with quite a few historical facts I did not know, you read novels where these ladies are mentioned but never find out what became of them I now know more.

One word brilliant. I don't usually read this kind of book but thought it's a great price so will give it a try and I am so glad I did. Set in modern day and back in time 600 years ago the characters become entwined producing a great ghost story of which I could not put down. I shall definitely be reading more books by this author. Highly recommend this to anyone interested in these types if story. 5 star rating.

This review is from: Anne Boleyn (Kindle Edition)
An interesting and enlightening story about Anne Boleyn sometimes a little difficult to read but going back over it and 're reading certain parts I was able to overcome these problems, although it has taken me longer to read it novel. Anne starts out as a young woman not really bothered about Henry but then begins to see the advantages it could bring and then eventually to aim as high as she could only for her to fall even more quickly than she climbed. If only Henry and Anne could have seen how there only child Elizabeth became the greatest sovereign there was, what would Henry have thought as his only quest was to have sons quite interesting.

Really enjoyed this story of Catherine from her young life, taken from the Abbey where she had lived to be married to Henry V giving birth to Henry VI and then for her husband to die while still only 21. Coming to live in England where she was mostly ignored and kept from her son she fell in love with Owen Tudor and her life changed giving birth to Edmund Tudor who eventually became the father to Henry VII. They were to live happily for a time under the threat of their secret being discovered, the end is very sad and I was moved to tears with Catherine never seeing her husband or sons again. Even after her death she wasn't to rest in peace. 5 star rating.

Quite enjoyed this story or diary as I did not know anything about her only small snatches where she maybe mentioned in other books. A lady rising up only to be sent spiralling down through jealousy, lies and her own foolishness

Rather slow to start with but picks up pace around the middle of the book, having read this many years ago I have decided to 're trace my foot steps and read them again. Not as exciting as the other novels but enough to keep you interested.

This was a very interesting story of Jane Seymour with Anne Boleyn in the story as well. I always thought Jane was a meek and mild sort of person but this version shows her as being quite manipulative and knew exactly what she wanted.
