They were rescued and taken to Bergen, Ruperts brigade went to winter quarters in Liege, on the way they came across some peasants, their house had been burned and some of their family killed, Rupert felt sorry for them and helped to bury the dead and gave them some money to rebuild, later they slept in a hut and were awakened by French peasants fed up with the war who decided to kill them, they set fire to the hut and got ready to throw them both in, the peasant they helped earlier arrived just in time to save their lives, after winter Marlborough laid siege to Ingoldstadt, after many battles Rupert returned home with Hugh and a new friend Joe, they went to see Van Duyk, there is an attack on the house where some said Van Duyk was in league with the French, there is a battle as they fight through the house, Maria Von Duyk had been kidnapped, the story continues with Ruperts search for Maria, who was eventually found with Fuykes in a house, the house was stormed and she was rescued

Rupert has many battles and adventures with the Earl, Rupert has to the girl he loves, escape from prison in France and much more but you must now read on

My Verdict, not to bad a story, probably worth a read, very long book
