A bit improbable, 8 Aug. 2013
Why, why, why? Apart from some impossibly lucky guesses and some quite unnecessary foul language, the plot became too convoluted and improbable. The whole purpose of the dectective's appointment was glossed over -why, why, why?
The reader is expected to be so in awe of the hero, that he/she ignores the huge question about what motivated the whole investigation in the first place! The characters are stereotypical and sometimes completely superfluous to the story. It was a struggle to plough through but just gripping enough to perservear. The enduring question remains.... Why, why, why was the dectective appointed?
