4.0 out of 5 stars I strongly suspect this is unofficial product but works fine none the less, 1 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Had to replace a couple of battered controllers for a PS2 console but this looks very unofficial, it does not have the Sony logo on it at all and the printing on the circle, square, triangle and x buttons look very different.

In addition, the product has a very strong spring action on the buttons making quick tap controls in games somewhat difficult but repeated use will solve this.

Inexpensive and effective.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm gone back in time!!!, 1 April 2014

I recently went through a drawer full of old games, blew the dust off them and dug out an old PS2. I went on a nostalgia trip back to where it all began with a whole range of then-best selling but now utterly obsolete PS1 games (Lara Croft with pointy boobs, the worst voice acting ever in the original Resident Evil, the thumb-busting combos of Tekken & the charming childishness of Crash Bandicoot)

I'm the kind of movie/game/music buff who believes that just because something's old doesn't mean you throw it away.

And obviously the PS1 & PS2 are one of those old consoles that made money off accessories like this but it's nice to know they're still out there and it works perfectly.

Welcome back to the 90s.......

4.0 out of 5 stars Now Hear This!, 1 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Not that it does my self-confidence or public image any good, but I have appalling problems with wax build up in my ears. I constantly ended up paying the Doctor to clean them out, so much so, it almost became a monthly bill.

So I bought this out of necessity rather than desire.

And I have to say it works pretty well and I haven't been to the Doctor for ear problems in 3 months now. However, my advice is not to wait until your ears are blocked because this product is more robust than it looks and is not something you should rough it with - you are talking about ears after all, a very sensitive part of the body and obviously, one of the senses. So be careful and patient with it and don't overdo it.

My advice is to use about 2 or 3 squirts in each ear each week just to keep them clean as a matter of prevention being better than cure.

I hope you have heard me!

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 stars for seller but make sure you actually need this before you buy it......, 1 April 2014

Delivery time better than promised, secure packaging and product is perfect, fits my Samsung s3 perfectly.

My reason for buying it was that my old battery had become utterly useless after a year, took forever to charge and no time to die.

But it's only after buying it that I realised it wasn't the battery that was the problem because the new one was behaving pretty much the same way.

Chalk this up to ignorance on my part but the S3 was my first ever smartphone and only got it last year so perhaps I was unaware of exactly how much goes in the background of these technological marvels.

I read up on the subject and learned a few simple rules - don't have the Wi-Fi or GPS turned on unless it's necessary, check your task manager often and shut off unnecessary operations and be careful what apps you download - I installed 2 apps, one a sports app, the other a shopping app and they never stopped crashing the phone, which I mistakenly thought was due to the battery but it wasn't, and the phone improved dramatically when uninstalled.

So it pays to check these things before spending money on items like this.

2.0 out of 5 stars Seller Review, 17 Dec. 2013

Can't say I was impressed with the seller here.

When I first got this box set, one of the films (Lock, Stock) was missing. When I sent it back and got a replacement, Lock Stock & on a purely blank disc with a small sticker on it with the name of the movie printed on it. One can only suspect this is a counterfeit copy of the movie. That suspicion grows even stronger when you watch Layer Cake whose sound and picture quality is awful for a DVD.

Won't be buying from this seller again.

I'm not going to say anything about the game at all. 'Why not?', I hear you ask...

Because I don't have the game! Believe it or not, I ordered GTA Liberty City Stories and they sent me San Andreas!!!!!!! In a pretty shabby condition, damaged case, no manual or map included. Although the game DOES work though.

It is only a matter of good fortune that I was planning to get San Andreas in the near future anyway, so I couldn't be bothered to send it back.

But seriously, how basic a mistake is this? I feel like I ordered Batman Begins on DVD & got Superman Returns.

All in all, I cannot recommend this seller.

Everything great in terms of delivery time and product condition, so thumbs up to the seller.

There isn't much I can say about the main game that the masses don't know already, but the extra material is pretty good. There are 2 extra side stories, one which traces Chris & Jill's mission where they discover Wesker at the mansion (hinted at in a cut scene in the main game) and a side story involving Josh and Jill making their way to Chris & Sheva for the game's finale. The best addition is to the mercenaries minigame, where there are several new characters including Barry Burton, Rebecca Chambers, Josh and Excella as well as new Chris & Sheva costumes all involving new moves and a much more diverse array of weaponry. This of course unlocks new costumes & figurines.

This edition injects new life into what is by now, an old game and a must for any RE fan, particularly at this very reasonable price.

4.0 out of 5 stars SELLER REVIEW!!!! Vice city 2 - looking forward to playing it, 17 Dec. 2013

In all the years I've played GTA, I've never played this one so I decided to pick it up second hand.

Its delivery took no time at all (and I'm not UK based), its condition for a second hand product is spectacular - not a hint of a scratch on the disc, the manual and map in perfect condition and it works perfectly in what is a very old console at this stage.

I would strongly recommend this seller and will be looking them up next time I want a game

1.0 out of 5 stars Beyond Retribution...., 11 July 2013
Y'know I've defended these movies from critical batterings over the years, the original Resident Evil movie was an interesting if wayward take on the original game, Apocalypse was a hugely enjoyable Hollywood-ised version of the Nemesis game, Extinction dared to go beyond the global epidemic you constantly played to prevent in the more recent games, totally Mad Max-ing the World's ass while Afterlife was a lesser but harmlessly entertaining 90 minutes of Zombie splattering fun.

But this movie is defenceless. A totally incoherent plot, re-hashed casting, soulless acting and a non-linear screenplay all combine to make this the worst entry in the series, in any measurable sense.

Where Afterlife left off, Alice & the remaining survivors aboard the Arcadia face an attack from an Umbrella Helicopter Squadron where the opening credits consist of this entire battle in reverse slow motion and then played forward again i.e. TIME FILLER - and this is only in the opening credits.

Alice is knocked into the sea and for some reason, ends up in a massive underwater base controlled by Umbrella which is basically 1 big training camp with various simulations of the world's largest & previously destroyed cities (New York, Moscow & Raccoon City) & Wesker directs Alice to kick some zombie ass while being mentally tested by going up against clones of former cohorts killed off in previous instalments, including Rain & Carlos.

No really, you read that right, that's the actual premise for this movie.

Alice spends all her time running around in a suit that looks like a rejected idea from Tron, throw Leon S Kennedy, Ada Wong & Barry Burton into the mix along with all the routine Resident Evil monsters, Zombies, Lickers, Majini, Axemen & Chainsaw Ganados and you end up with one incomprehensible mess of a movie that actually looks & feels like a bad video game as you jump from one level to another, fighting a different monster from one scene to the next, while several scenes are carbon copies of clips taken from the games.

With previously dead characters shamelessly reappearing instead of coming up with characters of some originality, super slow-mo action sequences to fill in running time and the painful non-existence of a plot, this movie only goes to show that this franchise has completely lost its way and at this point, is simply churning out any old crap.

Spend your money on the games that still have a chance to flourish and to hell with these movies.

2.0 out of 5 stars To boldly go where Star Trek films have already gone before..., 30 Nov. 2012
Last call for Picard & Co & they're up against those ever irksome Romulans & their creepy Remum cousins.

Frenetically, we go straight from the assassination of a Romulan Senate to a joyful wedding of Riker & Troi & no sooner than that's over & done with, the crew is discovering parts of a Data-replica on a distant planet, which then leads the crew into a peace meeting with the Romulans.

Here, the audience is introduced to Shinzon, who is actually human & more to the point, a cloned replica of a young Picard who happens to be an abandoned espionage experiment reduced to a life of slavery & servitude on the Romulans' sister planet Remus. Now he wants revenge against the Romulans & humanity itself with a ship armed to the teeth & a global-killing weapon at his disposal. Sorrowfully, the many elements of this story are completely blown apart by one spectacular action sequence after another.

These sequences are impressive but scattershot & unoriginal. Picard, Data and Worf jumping off a cliff in a dune buggy looks daft; Picard & Data's escape from the enemy ship with phasers blasting is comically identical to Han Solo & Luke Skywalker escaping from the Death Star while a shuttlecraft racing through the corridors of the massive enemy ship looks like more like a computer game than a movie. Not to mention a certain death scene looks like a carbon copy of Emperor Palpatine's demise in Star Wars. But it's not all bad, the ensuing battle between the Enterprise and Shinzon's gigantic warship makes Star Wars look like a Warner Brothers cartoon, and a collision scene is pure sci-fi cinematic bliss.

Nevertheless, all the holes spectacularly blown in the hull of both ships fails to fill the gaping hole where a decent original plot is supposed to be. It's ridiculously similar to Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan - a captain and his archenemy, a doomsday weapon and a self-sacrifice saturated in martyrdom. And what's worse is that there's even a pathetically transparent sub-plot to bring him back - just in case the movie was a huge success & they could have him in any further sequel. And when plot holes are exposing production/revenue concerns like that, you know you're onto a bad thing.

Anyhoo, Patrick Stewart delivers a sturdy performance as the unbreakable Captain Picard while a certain Mr. Tom Hardy makes his name here as the sinister Shinzon (even if his entire crew look like the cenobites from Hellraiser movies). However, Jonathan Frakes looks tired in the role of Commander Riker & along with him, Troi, Worf, La Forge & Crusher all take a back seat in the film. Director Stuart Baird does everything right on screen but it still does not make up for what is ultimately, an unengaging plot.

Movie trivia will tell you that only the even numbered Star Trek movies are the ones to watch, but that's an unreliable code of standard on which to judge this offering. (Not withstanding the fact 2009's reboot of the franchise has buried that myth forever)

Considering how well they wrapped up the movies for the old crew in the excellent Star Trek 6: The Undiscovered Country, this is a really disappointing & hollow end to 7 seasons & 4 movies of this crew.

On Screen!

Er, No Thanks....
