2.0 out of 5 stars Rise of the rubbish, british crime films, 31 Aug. 2015
This review is from: Rise Of The Krays [DVD] (DVD)
Who the hell cast these two as reggy and Ronnie kray?? They look nothing alike for starters, even less like the krays in looks, mannerisms and behaviour, Ronnies character would of more suited an Adrian mole remake and reggies character looks like an extra off any c last British crime film, Storys ok 30 min in but no attention to detail has been included here, modern phrases etc, a modern film of the krays could be great with the right actors and director, these gilby brothers had a fluke with rise of the footsoldier, the acting in that was comical at times especially ricky hannets forced attempt to look and act hard and Terry turbos diabolical acting, but the story was so fascinating it,was still a great film, and the guy who played pat tate, carried the film, it moved fast and had moments of greatness, this kray film is bad and the gilbys have exposed themselves as clueless posh boys who know nothing of that world, waste of 8quid

2.0 out of 5 stars no new ground here, 28 July 2014
Yes fair enough this is ok for people new to oasis or younger fans that would not know the facts in this book. For a fan who was there from the start, this book us a waste of money, there is not 1 single piece of info that i didnt know already from reading previous books or from youtube or the def maybe dvd, theres a lot of waffle about Manchester and the writers hometown of Glasgow and other irrelevant bands when its meant to be focused on definitely maybe and 94, i read this book in around an hour,it is very very short, very disappointed and at 10er its ridiculous to be honest, this book is clearly written by a passionate 94 period oasis fan but its no more than a fans viewpoint /review in my opinion, the writer has covered no new ground here, it is well written but as a massive obsessive of earlt oasis i am massively disappointed with this book

got this album after hearin follow baby and readin glowing nme review and countless other good reviews . in all honesty i wasnt keen on the verses when i first heard follow baby and im still not won over but i gota say the chorus and ending are amazing and easily the best thing ive heard in ages .. as for the rest of the album none of the tracks stand out for me and they sound like their not sure what direction to go in at times they sound like the libertines or early artic monkeys and next min foals then the roses . a couple of the tracks sound exactly like foals but without the depth and confidence that foals have .. pretty disapointed in the album as a whole the lyrics dont sound particulary meaningfull and the singers voice gets a bit irritating after a few listens.. i think the fact that people are gettin so excited over this band shows just how desperate weve all become to find a new band of kids to believe in like in the days of oasis and the roses and further back the smiths.. Even in the days of britpop i dont think peace would of stood out much and today i think compared to bands like born blonde/ exit calm/ foals they still dont stand out
