1.0 out of 5 stars Didn't fit HD 465, 12 Aug. 2015

The supplied pads were small for my Sennheiser HD 465 headphones, and completely impossible to put on despite much effort - and as such they had to be returned.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great read, 20 July 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I was a little sceptical about this for the first chapter or so for some reason, but this is a definite grower and a fantastic read. There's a lot going on in it, and it can be complex at times, but it's a great novel and one well worth spending your time with. Looking forward now to reading the sequel.

2.0 out of 5 stars A good plot, but a battle to read, 19 Jun. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Algorithm (Kindle Edition)
I do think that there's a germ of a good read here, however it's a constant battle to make it through to the end thanks to a huge number of basic spelling errors and grammatical errors. Vale instead of valet, miss chief instead of mischief, hard ware instead of hardware, pars instead of parse, I could go on. And don't get me started on the phonetic spelling of maître d'.

Now I'm not one to talk as my spelling is frequently terrible, and as for my grammar... however a simple grammar and spell check would quickly solve most of these problems, and would make a The Algorithm 2.0 a far less frustrating read. The freely available LibreOffice office suite has a similarly freely available grammar checker and it could be all done quickly and easily. Better still would be to do a full edit to sort out some of the clunkier sentences.

If you can put up with the errors, you'll find an interesting plot, but ultimately the errors do make reading this book hard work.

A Very British Coup
A Very British Coup

5.0 out of 5 stars In some respects dated, but still very compulsive viewing, 17 Jun. 2014
This review is from: A Very British Coup (DVD)
In some respects, this is very dated. A story about a Prime Minister who was a former steel worker, and who is a real character? Can you imagine in this day and age when every single major politician seems to have gone to public school, and are almost as bland as each other?

But put that aside and you have a cracking drama. The tale of a true Socialist Prime Minister, democratically elected by a landside and the attempts of the old guard - intelligence agencies, press barons and military - to get him out. The tale of what basically would have happened in the 1980s if some of the "loony left" had ever got to power.

It's a powerful drama, and gripping stuff that definitely gets better as you go through each of the tree episodes.

2.0 out of 5 stars On the plus side, it's only an hour and twenty minutes long, 9 Jun. 2014
This review is from: The Sitter (DVD)
Rather lazy "comedy" full of stereotypes (gender and racial), nonsensical plot and rather recycled and rehashed jokes. If you're expecting a belly laugh, you probably won't get it.

On the plus side, it's only an hour and twenty minutes long.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exceptional drama, 21 May 2014
This review is from: Downfall (Blu-ray)
An amazing piece of drama about the final days of the Third Reich. This is absolutely a must see, and one of the most compelling films possible to watch.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a battery and it works, 18 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
It's a battery that fits in my Samsung Galaxy Ace and it certainly works better than the one it replaced. I'm getting a good battery length of it, unlike my old one which (by the end) was almost dead after a whopping 10 minutes of wifi usage.

5.0 out of 5 stars Does what it says on the tin, 17 Dec. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Plugged this in to my Wii, connected the other end to a Homeplug and after one quick visit to the Wii's internet settings to configure it, we were away. I bought this because of choppy video streaming on my Wii using wireless and after setting it up, it's not a problem any more.

One thing to note is that mine came in different packaging - just a plain, clear plastic bag. However the unit itself looks the same.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best Indian food I've ever cooked, 5 April 2012
A friend got me this book for my birthday and it's quickly become a firm favourite. Why? Because the dishes in it are absolutely amazing.

Take Pilau Rice for example. I've tried lots of recipes for this simple staple but never found any that were as good as an Indian restaurant. Well until I got this book anyway!

Even the humble cabbage and potato is transformed in to a stunning dish in the form of Cobi Mattar.

True there are some annoying in language inconsistencies (are they Ajwain or Carom seeds or both?!) but the mental translation is well worth it for the quality of the food you'll produce.
