I have mixed feelings about the effects of these drops. They do usually (though not always) help me get to sleep, but then I have vivid, tiring dreams and wake up groggy and depleted the next morning. I'm on the fence about whether that's better than my usual disrupted night.

The quality of the bands themselves is ok, but the range of sizes is pretty poor. Even the biggest ones are smaller than the average rubber band, I'd say.

3.0 out of 5 stars Needs better editing but worth reading for the information., 14 Aug. 2015

Generally a good, informative read which doesn't cover every single facet in minute detail but approaches the subject matter in the same sort of way as a good medium-weight history book - there's detail but not an overwhelming amount, while the writing style is almost conversational.

In some ways it feels more like journalism. The sources are understandably mainly interviews, and some of the wording has a journalistic feel - a lot "[person] told me" and "[person] mentioned during our conversation". Although the relatively casual writing style does make the book far more accessible than it could have been (this is a subject which could easily be made quite dry), it also adds a slightly amateurish feel to proceedings which doesn't always work in the book's favour.

Adding to this hint of sub-professionalism are numerous spelling and grammatical errors, typos and other gaffs which should have been picked up by any half-competent proofreader. The first two or three slip by easily enough - even the most polished tomes have some errors - but they begin mounting up. These little errors occur frequently enough that the book begins to feel like it hasn't been proofread at all, which starts to give it the feel of a published blog rather than a professionally written volume.

In particular, Chapter 9 (on Ancient Domains of Mystery) reads like a first draft. Errant punctuation, misplaced words and, worst of all, a failure to spell the name of the game's world correctly even once, make this chapter a striking low point in a book which is otherwise flawed but respectable.

Having said that, the niggling goofs and slightly over-casual style don't completely ruin the book. The shambolic Chapter 9 comes close to being too much, but the sloppiness of that chapter aside, Craddock has clearly done his homework. He's gone to a lot of trouble to reach individuals who seldom speak about their roguelike involvement, and the insight granted by the wealth of information makes up for other deficiencies. I have to dock one star for that one ghastly chapter, but otherwise it's a solid effort.

Total junk, can't use it at all because computers don't recognise it. Tried it with several different computers, always the same problem. Skip it.

It's a bit fiddly trying to get the earplugs in, but once you get the hang of it they work fine. I can still hear the rescue helicopter that sometimes flies overhead, but not loudly.

With these earplugs you have to roll them until they're very thin and then push them into the ear canal itself, otherwise they don't help. They expand back to full size quite slowly so you have to hold them in place for a minute or two. It took me a few dozen tries to get the hang of it.

Also, it's worth mentioning that if you sleep with them in (as I do) you might find that one or both ears will be slightly sore from lying on that side during the night.

Don't believe the claim that this 'replaces' 100w bulbs. It doesn't. It's significantly too dim for that.

2.0 out of 5 stars Less rubber bands, more robber bands, 16 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
When I ordered these, I didn't think it was possible to mess up elastic bands. I was mistaken. While they're sturdy enough that you won't break them easily, the trade off for this strength is too high. There are two main qualities I look for in an elastic band: 1) stretchy; 2) bendy. These bands barely stretch and they're weirdly rigid, so that they tend to hold their original shape. The upshot is that while they're better than nothing at all, it's not by much. Don't waste your money or time.

5.0 out of 5 stars The only choice, 9 April 2014
I notice that a lot of the negative reviews of this product are actually based on being ripped off by a seller. That's not a reflection on the product! Leave your feedback in the right place!

I've tried various types of Durex and this is the only one that's comfortable. Even the ones supposedly designed for comfort feel too tight and often too rigid around the base, which makes them difficult to put on and not the most pleasant thing in the world to experience once I do get them on. The Intimate Feels ones are comfy, easy on/easy off, just all round the most pleasant Durex experience I've had.

I can only speak for myself, but this is the only one I'll use these days.

2.0 out of 5 stars Fails to perform, 2 Dec. 2013

When I read the negative reviews of this product I thought people were just being fussy. It's 'deluxe', it has to be good, right?

No. The reviews were right.

Despite being one of Durex's widest products at 58mm, it is without doubt the tightest-feeling and least comfortable condom I've ever used. The base is like a steel hoop. You might imagine that won't make much difference (I did) but it's a deal-breaker. This thing is really difficult to put on thanks to the rigidity of the base, and once on it feels like being inside a stack of car tyres with a vice at the bottom. Absolutely horrible.

Even though this is supposedly larger, I'd recommend any of the 56mm products over this. I don't know how Durex got it so wrong, but they did.

2.0 out of 5 stars Anti-mouse pad, 26 April 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I don't like to give negative reviews but in the interests of preventing anyone else wasting money and, more importantly, time I thought I'd better mention this. The mat doesn't work very well with an optical mouse. My mouse(s) will work perfectly well on the table, the window ledge, the carpet...but not on this mat. The pointer trembles a little but doesn't move. I've tested the mice and the batteries, and everything's fine on that end, so it has to be the mat. No idea why, but optic mice don't seem to like it. Shame.
