4.0 out of 5 stars You Really Do Need Their Scum!!, 8 Feb. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought this simply because of the £6 price tag, and being on prime too, made it a great deal.

A very nice and well made figure, in the league of the excellent First Order Trooper and 20" Darth Vader. Good attention to detail, facial sculpt is spot on and so is the outfit. Good to see a weapon excessory too, something that was sadly missing from Boba Fett in the same scale.

Only one problem, and that is there is no hip articulation, this means its quite unbalanced and unsteady as you cant bend the torso back to aid balance. The feet swivel from side to side which helps balance some what. A worthy addition to you big figure collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Extremelly Good Kit, 26 Aug. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Im currently in the process of building this kit, i just need to finish the left arm, the weapons and the alternate hands.

I have heard and seen how good this was so i decided to chance £11 to find out and after purchasing the Revoltech Stormtrooper which was HORRIBLE, i founf this to be top notch.

This is maybe one of the best and most well engineered model kits i have ever built. The parts fit is simply heavenly, this is a push fit kit where the parts not only fit together extremely well but also stay together! The seams on the white leg armour are well hidden, infact they are in the same places as in the genuine screen used armour. The only seam that is visible is in the rear of the helmet as the lower rear part is made up from two pieces. The helmet is then pushed onto a pin with a top and a bottom ball joint, this allows for great articulation.

The inner black bodysuit on the reat costume houses the articulation and joints in the kit, and the armour is in a sense cladding that fits on to it.

There are alternate weapons in the form of a long blaster rifle, E-111 classic and the smaller, prototype hand blaster seen in early publicity and test shots. To my knowledge its the first time this hand bladter has been produced for a trooper.

The body is made up in component parts, helmet, torso, waist, arms and legs and all fit extremely well. The shoulder joint is a socket with a ball joint on the end, the ball joint fits into the chest cavity and the socket fits the ball joint of the shoulder. The elbows and knees are must the same, two lollypop shaped pins, the hoops on each end fit over two pins of a central black peice, the pins are then slotted into the bottom of the thigh and the top of the calf area. The elbows work in the same way.

The feet are secured to the lower leg by a joint that lets the foot move up and down, the securing pin in the bottom of th calf has an internal rubber gromet that lets the foot rotate from side to side.

There is an option to have the holster on either side of the belt, this holster is also capable of storing the E-111 and hand blaster, a working strap features too.

I will add the rest ofvthe review when i have completed the build.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible junk...AVOID, 9 Aug. 2015
Seriously upset and disappointed with this item, and disgusted at the lack of quality.

Not 20 seconds out of the box and the right shoulder joint broke clean off. All of the limb joints were looser than a 40 year old vintage figure, the helmet chin is constantly resting on the chest plate as the joint is just so loose it will not support the heads weight.

The arms for some God only known reason can not be moved infront of the body, only moved outwards from the sides making it practically impossible pose the figure holding the provided weapons or move the arms forward. The ankle joints are so loose that the feet flop backwards and forwards, the waist joint will not hold the upper torso in place....oh I could go on and on. No idea how the pictured positions were obtained.

The joins themselves are incredibly brittle. The instructions tell you to remove and then reposition the ball joints to gain different poses? Most shatter even with the smallest pressure, i even heated the limbs to soften them, no chance.

I own the Revoltech Boba Fett figure and that is FAR better than this God awful offering so im really stunned at just how bad this item!!

Avoid this product, Hadbro Black Series 6" trooper is lightyears ahead of this junk.

4.0 out of 5 stars A great little new tool kit, 23 July 2015
Recently finished this kit and I have to say that it's a real beauty, a few niggles but one the whole it's really nice. The control stick and the antenna pole will need extreme care to remove from the sprue.

Parts fit well, small gaps can be found around the wing roots and the underside of the fuselage were the flap for the radiator can be found. The windscreen will need test fitting to the fuselage as I had problems fitting it properly. The ends of the of the undercarriage legs where they fit to the inside of the bays need taking down a little and one of the legs needed warming and reshaping to fit properly. A couple of holes need drilling in the wings for the fuel tank mounts and the stand if your using one.

The decals are a pleasure, had no problems with any of them except the yellow strips that are found on the wings leading edge. The decals really need a softener to sit properly so patient and Gunze Mr Mark decal softener helped with these. Best to remove the strip as usual in water then I soaked the decal in some Mr Mark, balanced it on the leading edge and applied more softener and pressed the decal down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Looks Great But Could Have Issues Common to Mirage., 14 Jun. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A very unique looking vehicle model kit, for a 1:35 kit it is extremely small and would benefit from a 1:16 scale to show it off to it full potential. As for tye build quality im not sure yet as the kit has yet to be started but if it holds up to the standard of their T26 the kit is decent enough, the wheels and suspension arms may have fit difficulties due to its design in kit form, the T26 relies on the pins that secure the wheels to the arms, there are no locating pins in the arms to keep the halves together.

The box is overly large for the size of the sprues it contains and could be said that it gives the kit better shelf appeal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality kit from Revell / Zvezda, 2 Jun. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Still have yet to build her, but just looking at the parts in the box I see this is a re-box of the Zvezda kit "Sevastopol".

Great looking quality, the fine parts look a little chunky but a little sanding will help here. Well recommended and will prove to be an unusual addition to a 1:350 collection.

Simply, i hate these new figures in the heroes line, terrible paint apps, half as articulated as the previous lines of Star Wars figures and nearly three same price.

The only time I actually consider buying these is if a figure is needed to add to a character focus, and even then if it's cheap enough.

Hasbro, please get rid of these awful figures and give us the VC back.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Kit, Looks Excellent., 23 May 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
For some reason I had it in my head that the new Revell Easy Kit Falcon was the same tool as the original AMT vintage ship, but I was wrong. It's a brand new kit, specially designed for snap building, pre-painted and needs no glue. But as many of you know, the snap together theory never usually works properly so I still had the old glue handy in case of emergencies!

The detail here is very nice and crisp on the surface, panels and greebel detail being slightly better than the AMT. The paint apps are not bad but I would recommend a new coat of paint and adding better weathering to get it looking closer to the A New Hope filming prop. This ship depicts the Falcon from A New Hope, so it is missing the two box like structures from under the front of the hull, the A New Hope version just has the two cut outs showing internal detail. It does have one negative in common with the AMT kit in that it is still too thick in the side walls, the actual Falcon model is thinner.

The landing gear can be displayed deployed or there are covers you can use to cover the very shallow bays in the hull. The internal detail in the bays is simple with no wiring, just a replication of the raised panel style of the hull. The landing gear itself is a little of a let down, simple but with a little work and paint they can be made to look realistic. The circular parts are patterned and engraved very nicely though.

The turret guns are placed on the top and bottom of the ship and are let down by the soft detail and block line design of the barrels being near all in one part, I would suggest removing these and making four separate barrels to add detail. The bottom turret is quite loose and hangs down in the vertical so it will need gluing in place after correcting. The windows under the guns are quite nice and clear, adding something to the whole area.

The cockpit internal detail is sparse, the console is lightly detailed, there are two piloting seats and to passenger sears and a black read wall but no side wall detail that is seen in the movie, but it can't be seen from the outside after the canopy is in place. The figures of Han and Chewie are provided and are not so bad, if a little toy like. The engine is a piece of clear perspex painted blue from the inside and seats by the use of three small pins in the clear fitting into three small hole in the hull.

Construction is really quite straight forward, and I have to say the snap function is really not bad, the best I have come across in any kit. There was only one part that refused to stay in place whilst I was building it and that was the rear part of the starboard side, basically a strip of detailed plastic, that runs from the front fork to the middle escape pod. A little dab of super glue did that justice. The three parts that form the inner walls of the front loading forks need to be secured with tape to hold them in place whilst the dorsal hull is snapped down. There is a small gap on the front of the forks that needs a spot of glue to hold it in place, and the radar dish could use some to Keep it in place.

Here is the only negative in the kit, the landing ramp. This can be either in the upwards closed position or in the down and open position. I glued mine in place closed as the inner area of the ramp is just not worth seeing. The hydraulic rams are included but sit too close together leaving no room between then, and the circular seating holes for the rams are raised and so large the diameters almost touch. There is no detail inside the side walls either and only a simple blanking plate at the top of the ramp to prevent you seeing into the kit. I would leave this closed as it's not the best feature.

I would have given 5 stars if it was not for the landing ramp and the cannon barrels, but to sum up it's a great looking kit, detail is very nice, the snap function and paint apps are good enough if your not a skilled model builder.

5.0 out of 5 stars For That Special Person In Your Life!, 16 May 2015
I seriously wanted to buy this for a chap I used to work with.

I could not stand the Man one iota but sadly I work in an extremely professional job, so the consequences of being found out would not be worth the extreme fun I could have had with this mug and him.

The only laugh he would have given anybody infact.

I did however buy the mug and have had huge, if slightly schoolboy humour, entertainment with it at home.
