4.0 out of 5 stars Ahhhh, The Good Old Days, 30 Mar. 2009
It always amazes me that no matter how old I get, I still love the mega drive as much as when that little blue hedgehog first dashed onto our screens.

This collection of Sega classics will have you feeling like a kid again in the first 5 seconds of playing. Even though this is the third Sega compilation released for the playstation, the Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection is by far the best of them. Featuring over 40 classic games, this compilation features the entire Sonic the Hedgehog collection, as well as all three Streets of Rage and Golden Axe Games.

Many reviews of this game claim that the games do not look any better in High Definition. I can tell you that they REALLY DO. The colours are much brighter and the graphics are sharper and crisper than ever before. Another great new feature is the ability to save and load the game at any time, rather than needing to restart the game over when you run out of lives.

Another great thing about this game is the potential for future downloadable games and updates.

However, this game does have a few things that stop me giving it a 5 star rating. First is the absence of the lock-on feature for Sonic & Knuckles. Sega chose not to include it due to time restraints and in my opinion, this was one of the best features about the sonic games.

The other drawback (Only a personal preference) is that there are so many other games that are far better than some that made it onto this collection. Games like Desert Strike, World of Illusion, Mortal Kombat...

But this game is still the best and most impressive looking collection of Mega Drive Games available and is essential for any fan of the Mega Drive looking to recapture that nostalgic feeling.

2.0 out of 5 stars Thunderbirds are definately not go, 10 Aug. 2008
This review is from: Thunderbirds (PS2) (Video Game)
I have always been a big Thunderbirds fan but in this case, the phrase budget game really means BUDGET game. I tried so hard to like this game but there is just nothing to save it from being a disaster that even International Rescue couldn't save. The levels are extremely repetitive. You'll either be landing TB1, grappling and carrying objects with TB2 or flying TB3 in an asteroids 2D style of gamplay. If this isn't dull enough, the graphics are the worst I have ever seen in a playstation 2 game. The ships are really low poly models with some extremely poor texture maps. The TB ships also shoot missiles from the front, making it feel like a bad version of Desert Strike. This game had the potential to be great but even the original TV soundtrack and theme just can't hide the utter lack of effort that went into making this mess of a game.
