4.0 out of 5 stars A reasonable compilation........................., 4 Feb. 2001
This review is from: Deepest Purple (Audio CD)
All the well known tracks are here.Starting with 'Black night'(a song with no meaning-thrown together in the studio to fill a space....still a good one though)and ending with 'Smoke on the water'. 'Child in Time' is a classic DP song with an amazing piece of guitar work from RB in the middle of the song. It appears to be a reasonably well thought out compilation, giving us purple fans what the title states: 'The very best of....' Could be a bit cheaper, but worth owning.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is Pink Floyd at their absolute best...........!!!!!!!!, 4 Feb. 2001
This review is from: Wish You Were Here (Audio CD)
'Shine on.....',Dear boy have a cigar & welcome to the machine..!Brilliant stuff! The sound of this album can only be described as smooth;there's no rawness as in 'The Wall'.'Echoes'has that same smooth easy to listen to sound.W.Y.W.H soothes the mind and takes you to other worlds-providing you LISTEN to the music as it tickles your eardrums and relaxes the grey matter! This is essential Floyd.A must for all...

1.0 out of 5 stars The most depressing PF album ever..................., 4 Feb. 2001
This review is from: The Wall (Audio CD)
'The Wall' is an album for those who like to be depressed. No matter how much i tried to listen to this rubbish(and I love most of Floyds' work)I end up irritable and down. There's not a single track worth mentioning.Since 'Wish you were here'PF have not produced anything decent. Sorry lads.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, 3 Feb. 2001
This review is from: Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (Audio CD)
When this hits your ears you'll know it!Amazing guitar work from Iommi and as usual ozzy never lets you down with that amazingly distinct and powerful voice of his. It's loud. It's heavy(apart from Fluff)and it is Sabbath, even if it slightly deviates from previous albums-but only for the better! You must own this sucker!

4.0 out of 5 stars Another compilation CD.........But a good one!, 3 Feb. 2001
This review is from: Iron Man (Audio CD)
A fourteen track compilation of the earlier stuff. Tracks include:.Sabbath Bloody Sabbath;Paranoid; The Wizard;Killing yourself to Live;War Pigs;Snowblind;Electric Funeral and other great tracks. This is a cd for all Sabbath fans and perhaps those that are wanting to find out what Sabbath is all about. When I'm in the mood to listen to the power of the early Sabbath days this is the cd I put on. There are of course other Sabbath compilations on the market but for me this cd compilation is the first and best. A definite must before you buy any other compilation. For 'newcomers'to Sabbath get this one first.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent stuff from the Masters of hard rock.............., 3 Feb. 2001
This review is from: Black Sabbath Vol 4 (Audio CD)
Every track on this cd is something special to plug into! I like my music 'hard',fast and loud.I certainly got all that and more. With each album Sabbath produce they come up with the goods.Ozzy as per usual lets rip turning the lyrics into something special.Iommi never fails to produce some incredible sounds and rifts that hit the ear drums with extreme force.'Snowblind' being a particular gem and favourite of mine. Not much else to say really, the album speaks for itself. Treat yourself!........

5.0 out of 5 stars A new beginning for ROCK............, 3 Feb. 2001
This review is from: Black Sabbath (Audio CD)
....'What is this that stands before me......' This album was the type of sound the youth then and now were/are looking for.The lyrics,Ozzy's distinctive voice,Iommi's heavy guitar work-those brilliant rifts-Geezers great bass playing and Wards'thumping drums. Although the lyrics are simple enough,it is clear that they hold great meaning about this 'system'and the evil within said system and within individuals. This album is a work of genius:in all its glorious aspects. this album will be around forever.A definite must for any collector of hard/heavy rock.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE REALITY OF SABBATH....., 2 Feb. 2001
This review is from: Master Of Reality (Audio CD)
Sabbath's music for me,deals with the realities of life. This album is definitely not an exception! From'sweet leaf'(we all know what that's about!)right through to the final track-'into the void'on my cd. 'Solitude'is a typical sabbath ballad, which I happen to think are all brilliant.Ozzy's voice is so haunting when he sings the 'blues'. Children of the Grave'is my favourite track bringing back memories of the seventies(early)and the 'Ban the Bomb'marches etc. This album is pure Sabbath-:pure joy to listen to(my neighbours may not agree!!!).....A MUST.

5.0 out of 5 stars A GIANT of Rock--classic/classy stuff!, 1 Feb. 2001
This review is from: Blizzard of Ozz (Audio CD)
As soon as the first track ended i began to feel the presence of sabbath. This was Ozzy's first album so the influence of sabbath was bound to be there:in the lyrics,Randy's incredible guitar work,at times reminding me of Iommi's rifts.Having said that the music did have a brand new sound & feel to it.All in all a brilliant album ,well worth having in any music collection.Ozzy as always giving heart and soul(if he still has one!)to his music. I am a certified ozzy fan, always have been, ever since I first heard him on sabbath's first album. A MUST FOR ALL LOVERS OF HARD/HEAVY ROCK!!!!!!!
