Fabulous read. Hilarious, inspiring, at times very poignant. What a life Rosengard has had and plans to have for at least another 30 years. That rare thing these days - a book you can't put down; I read it over a weekend. Highly recommended.

This review is from: The Stand (Kindle Edition)
Read this in the 90s and it was great. Now re reading this expanded edition I'm reminded that King may well be the greatest fiction writer of my generation. This is a big big book but the pages fly by as the characters are woven around the plot and vice versa. I don't read much fiction but this is a must read, no question. Thanks Mr King for all of your work but especially this yarn.

5.0 out of 5 stars a must read for leaders in general and church leaders in particular, 29 Aug. 2014

Hard hitting, at times uncomfortable, but this book has the potential to completely overturn traditional, conventional thinking about doing church in 2014. Wonderful read.

5.0 out of 5 stars A pleasant surprise, 4 Jun. 2014

I actually didn't buy these for a car at all. I have a ZT Lunchbox 200watt guitar amplifier. The speaker blew and its an odd size and I couldn't find a replacement so I thought I'd give these a try. Fits like a glove and sounds fine - I guess in theory the frequency response is wrong but it sounds fine and great value; and I have a spare if it blows again as a bonus. Full marks so if you're looking for a 6.5 inch speaker for musical applications give them a try. Next day delivery worked too.

The Utter Relief of Holiness: How God's Goodness Frees Us From Everything That Plagues Us
The Utter Relief of Holiness: How God's Goodness Frees Us From Everything That Plagues Us
Price: £5.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, practical wisdom fom my favourite author, 18 Feb. 2013
"Holiness" has got a bad name. The word brings all kinds of connotations; pious ness, religious ness, and sanctimony. John unpacks the truth about real holiness as evidenced in the real humanness of Jesus. He retells well known stories about the way Jesus went about his business in a way that offers practical advice. Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you read one leadership book make it this one, 2 Aug. 2012

I was in senior management for 20 odd years and read a bunch of books whilst learning my craft "by ear".. Once I had "succeeded" I went off and got an MBA to validate myself somehow and to be honest, this book encapsulates everything you need to know about customer service and modern leadership. Its an easy read and Leahy is amazingly humble for such a talented and inspirational leader. Read this before you sign up for any kind of management / leadership training and you will save yourself a load of cash and a few years work!

5.0 out of 5 stars The future of TV, 7 Jan. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
OK, this is a very expensive TV, and 3D is still very new, and wasnt really on my agenda. The TV arrived very quickly, was unboxed eagerly and quickly bolted to the wall. It is large, admittedly, but very, very slim, and no heavier than the 42 inch plasma that it replaced. Fitted to the same standard budget bracket as the old one so that was easy. Simple to set up, very intuitive. I connected it to my network using a standard ethernet cable and the Netcast feature is pretty cool. However, the point is, the picture is simply stunning. I wouldnt have thought the human eye could spot the difference but the 400hz together with the full array LED system produces a picture that is literally life like on HD sources. Watched a few recent blu rays (Inception first) and was extremely impressed. As to 3D; havent really yet got anything to produce a 3D picture but the active glasses are cool and as a bonus fit over your specs if you wear them. Waiting anxiously for my 3d blu ray player but really, if you want probably the best TV picture, treat yourself!

1.0 out of 5 stars League of Gentlemen - apocalypse or disaster?, 8 Nov. 2005
Dear oh dear, what on earth went wrong here. LOG the series was masterful and hilarious on many levels. This gives the impression of the writers getting a stiff tax bill and writing this on a beermat over lunch to top up the offshore account. Tedious, ridiculous and rarely funny. Familiar characters showed up, for sure, but the laughs were few. My advice, give it a miss.
