5.0 out of 5 stars The PERFECT Christmas read!, 6 Dec. 2015

Mandy Baggot has done it again - in spadefuls!! The story just wraps itself around you, like a virtual hug and never lets go. Favourites? Oliver, Oliver, Oliver ... by the way, did I mention Oliver? Yes, I'm ever so slightly obsessed, but who wouldn't be? Loved Hayley and Angel, too, but Oliver is so well-written that he jumps off the page and onto the sofa next to you. One to read more than once - maybe an annual Christmas treat - and surely one of Mandy's best yet!

5.0 out of 5 stars A really stunning cover and a story that will melt your heart, 27 July 2015

A really stunning cover and a story that will melt your heart! While there are moments you will find yourself smiling, be warned because there will be tears and moments when you long to give Sam a hug. The course of true love is never easy, or straightforward, and where war is concerned the distance (and circumstances) create a different sort of reality to contend with. Some truly memorable characters you will remember long after you read that final page. Lovely!

5.0 out of 5 stars Two stories beautifully woven together, 27 July 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Two stories beautifully woven together, a puppy named Piglet (delightfully cute) and then there's Gabe ... a guy who isn't always easy to understand but pulls on your heartstrings. Set in Herefordshire in the UK, this story is full of interesting characters who very much bring to life that feeling of community spirit and village life. I love the way Rachel's story (the current owner of Clematis Cottage) intertwines with the unravelling of the previous owner's story, Henrietta Trenchard-Lewis. Add to that a perfect ending and what you have is one fabulous read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovehearts made for sharing!, 12 Jun. 2015

I don't think you ever really forget your first love and it's rather special that Stephanie and James come together after many years apart. However, old baggage weighs heavily and sometimes it feels that life is making the road forward as difficult as it can. This is a story of relationships very much coloured by past hurts, memories and ... ambition.

A sequel that can be read as a standalone novel without detracting from the enjoyment. Settle down and absorb yourself in the lives of some wonderfully-written characters. You won't regret it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Gabe’s story will leave you clamouring to read The Star Child series!, 12 Jun. 2015
What a superb idea to write a novella featuring Gabe (Gabrial) – and if you’re a fan of The Star Child series, as I am, then this is one to savour!
I read it in one sitting and it felt as if I was rediscovering this character. Keyes does a great job of telling his back story and in a way I’m glad that I read this after reading the series itself. It was like re-visiting an old friend, only to see them in a slightly different light. I wasn’t expecting Gabe’s initial reaction, as a boy, to be reluctance when he hears a voice that is pushing him to do something. He feels that if he obeys it then perhaps it will go away. There was a sense of vulnerability in that which rang true.
For those who haven’t yet read The Star Child books I think this will, undoubtedly, whet their appetite for more. Escape for a while and visit the world that Stephanie Keyes has created – you will love it!

Winter's Rain (Northern Lights Book 3)

5.0 out of 5 stars A gritty romance that bares raw emotion – page-turning!, 11 Jun. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Winter Rayne lives a lie, from the surname she chooses to write under, to the life she claims to lead. Beaten and desperate, the reality is stark - she was robbed of her childhood and forced into a life that is unimaginable. Battered and worn-down, the only strong thing about her is that instinctive will to survive. While her insecurities run deep, the actual scars aren't just emotional, but physical, too. How can you expect anyone to love you when you can't love yourself?

This romance is, at times, gritty, and bares raw emotion. It bravely encompasses a range of very real issues and exposes the accompanying pain. It serves to remind us that in real life we have no choice but to accept the hand we are dealt. However, the test is in how each person chooses to handle the bad things that happen and, in doing so, fight to claim the life they want.

Does God send Winter an angel in the form of Jedidiah Raintree MD? Can Winter ever shed her poor self-image and become the woman she longs to be? It's a lot to ask of anyone and you'll have to read the story to find out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wishing you were here (and some!), 24 May 2015

I think every reader will want to head off to the Blue Vue hotel in Corfu in the hope of spotting Yan and those eyes - 'bright, clear azure pools of light'. He is the star, without a doubt but he's supported by a cast of colourful characters who will also pull on your heartstrings! This is a story of love, life and emotional baggage, and the other star of the show is the setting. If you are sitting in your garden this summer, then grab this book for a little escapism and be transported. If you are on the beach, you will be wishing you were in Corfu, mixing with this crowd (and it's all-inclusive!). Another brilliant Mandy Baggot read - loved it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Slip on those dancing shoes - inspired!, 18 May 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Behind the glitz and the glam isn't just the hard work, but it's all about the characters and The Rumba doesn't disappoint! What a cast and who wouldn't dissolve from the intensity of Harri's eyes? As you can guess, he was my favourite! You get a warm feeling reading this one and a sense of the dancing action. An inspired idea for a complete series and Georgia Hill writes it with style.

5.0 out of 5 stars Game, set and match! An ace debut novel., 18 May 2015

This review is from: Game of Love (Kindle Edition)
It's the first book I've read set in the professional world of tennis and I have to say that it created a lot of excitement and tension. Especially from the point of someone being 'at the top of their game' and the pressures surrounding that success. As Gemma Lennon's focus is firmly set on winning, she can't ignore the fascination she feels when an accident at breakfast means her path crosses with gorgeous Andre, Dr Reyes. He starts to get under her skin and life becomes complicated, as it does when everything you do is in the public eye. A story that will keep you turning those pages and also willing Gemma on to win! I also loved the quotes at the beginning of each chapter, it was a nice touch. An ace debut novel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Janice Horton success!, 18 May 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Who doesn't love an adventure? Especially when it's set in the Caribbean! The cast of characters is headed by Janey and Travis, as the two are thrown together on an unexpected adventure. Can Janey prove she isn't just the predictable tourist Travis thinks she is? And can Travis ever impress Janey? Well, it's a long journey and it's one you'll follow with interest, as the supporting cast adds to the overall fun of this well-written story. Another Janice Horton success and well-deserved - I loved it!
