A triumph, majestic, magnificent and relevant. James Ford in my opinion has helped them find that little edge for these insane times we live in...

5.0 out of 5 stars Never lost it, always leagues ahead of the rest, 24 Oct. 2013
This review is from: Last Patrol (Audio CD)
I have always loved everything they do, from the magnificent TAB and Spine of God to the last one Mastermind...Dave Wyndorf is a genius lyricist too....he's been likened to all the greats in rock and more some because of the way he rhymes...a lot of rappers compare him to what they do and he gets their respect too...he's a guy who uses his influences and makes them better...I would say that a lot of his albums are a bit different and maybe not always appealing to folk who like a particular sound but I love the fact the last one Mastermind was really heavy and dark and doom laden and this new one feels a bit more like Superjudge period...So in conclusion only space rock exists if Monster magnet are playing and invited to the party!!! Get your Dr Dre headphones on... turn the lights out...have a few drinks and turn it up!!!!...A Very Special Band....enjoy the genius of Dave Wyndorf...

This is an excellent record from start to finish. As dave gahan said time is a clock and unconsciously they have gone full circle...It does bring smiles to my face :)....I absolutely love it...going to see them in Rome July 19th 2013...can not wait...

5.0 out of 5 stars He aint 19 anymore so give him some slack cause its fooking ace!, 7 Jun. 2011
This review is from: Suck It And See (Audio CD)
To those who are doubting the arctic monkeys...You just have to realise that no great band releases the same album after another....never in history has that happened....alex is a treasure for us all to enjoy so ENJOY IT AND TREASURE IT NOW AS IT IS HAPPENING!!!! Let him develop cause if you wanted 4 albums the same you have music all wrong....Alex is not 19 anymore and his lyrics and style and influences will change and that PROVES ITS REAL...imagine if he always sang the same songs and style that would be unbelievable...he really is some talent and what a tight tight band and to be honest we have not seen their like for 20 - 30 years....they look so cool and the music is just timeless and in a few years they will be reverred as a classic band like the smiths or the jam or the beatles or even black sabbath....in fact i rate them there already...anyone who is thinking of ditching them ought to think again as you are missing out on a special special band...

3.0 out of 5 stars I would give it a 4 if did not have the 4th track remix, 18 April 2011
This review is from: Rather Be (MP3 Download)
What an earth are they playing at...? They can be genius then have some horrible remix added on the end...although this single is 10 times better than the first, I admit tracks 2 and 3 which are not on the album are the best, yet again...apart from storm in heaven and a few early EPs I have never been that bothered but I always wanted the old sound again...there may be a bit in track 2 to try to get back to old times but maybe its gone forever...that is what fame does to people, it seduces them in...the early pure creativity with nothing to prove is the best...there are hints on here though it might be there still? I know he has a good rich tone voice most folk would die for and I just do not think ashcroft can sing in the old way again though...the beautiful dreamy voice he had...but here's hoping...if not i will just play storm in heaven the same way I play the first stone roses record...maybe thats it for me and the rest of you can have the later stuff...
