5.0 out of 5 stars Great Album!, 1 Sept. 2006
This is yet another sensational album from Diana Krall. Her wonderful voice, song selection and the brilliant arrangements make for another great album to add to her already impressive cannon of work. Produced by the legendary Tommy LiPuma, the album has a very 'classic' feel to it. I often feel that old songs reinterpreted can be a bit tired and clichéd, yet one never has this feeling when listening to this album. The songs always sound fresh and the tone always spot on - it's as if she instinctively knows how these songs should be played. 'Come Dance With Me' and 'Isn't This A Lovely Day' stand out for me a personal favourites, but all 11 tracks work together wonderfully. 'From This Moment On' is sure to further Diana Krall's already mightily impressive reputation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great collection!, 20 April 2006
What a brilliant album! This collection showcases what a really great musician Curtis is. Having recently starred on BBC's Just the Two of Us I'm sure that Curtis has acquired many new fans and this album - gathering together his finest moments from his previous four albums - is the perfect introduction to his music. A collection of superb tracks which Curtis performs in his own wonderful jazz style. Curtis' jazz sound is used to great effect, most notably some great covers such as, 'That's Alright', 'Crazy' and 'Don't think Twice, It's Alright'. It sounds as though Curtis is really enjoying himself on every track and this definitely comes through when listening to the album - it is an absolute joy. For fans new and old, this is an essential purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars No Poison, just sweet, 5 Jan. 2006
This review is from: Poison Sweet Madeira (Audio CD)
What a fantastic album! I was recommended this by a friend and I just can’t get enough of it. Sophie’s violin playing is so exquisite, so moving and so enjoyable. This album is a genuine melting pot of styles, all of which Sophie combines masterfully. A true mix of classical, klezmer, eastern European folk and world rhythms, ‘Poison Sweet Madeira’ showcases the extraordinary talents of this young violinist. This is one of those rare albums where you never have to use the skip button, as each track is such a joy, revealing something new on each listen. Whilst Sophie sticks to playing the violin, there are a number of guest vocalists here such as Ralph Fiennes, Richard Hawley and most notably KT Tunstall. The Scottish songstress lends her voice to the beautiful ‘Lazarus’ which is definitely one of the album highlights. The combination of these two hot young female talents is just magnificent – a real treat!
As it was to me, I strongly recommend you check this album out. It is not often you can claim to have found something fresh, new and exciting, but this album truly stands out. An absolute gem just waiting to be discovered.
