The Girl on the Train
The Girl on the Train
Price: £4.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Page-turner is an understatement, 2 Feb. 2015
It's cliche - but this book IS the definition of a page-turner. I loved Rachel, the girl on the train, despite the fact she is an unreliable narrator because she is an alcoholic and this causes her to have long blackouts when she's been drinking. A lonely divorcee, Rachel becomes more and more involved in the story of a local missing woman and the hunt for the truth. Perhaps she is a little too involved for a stranger to the case, but now you are too and, trust me, you will not be able to put this book down until you know what actually happened to the missing girl.

The Boatman (The Carnivia Trilogy Book 1)
The Boatman (The Carnivia Trilogy Book 1)
Price: £1.89

5.0 out of 5 stars Two awesomely strong female characters, a great plot and a brilliant read all round., 8 July 2013
When I finished this book, I put it down - and immediately want to pick it up and start reading it all over again!

The story begins in Venice during carnival when a body washed up on its shores. It unravels into an epic thriller that asks the questions - did NATO have a secret guerrilla army in Italy? Why is there such a big American army base in Venice? Do female priests really exist? What exactly was America's role in the Bosnian war and how easy is it to brain wash people into committing the most atrocious crimes?

I fell in love the the characters of Kat and Holly and absolutely cannot wait for the next book!

I watched the film and then decided I wanted to know more - hear it from the horse's mouth. What a life! Thoroughly enjoyable book. And with loads more stories and gossip than the film! Anyone who enjoyed the film will like this :)

Very funny sample chapter... fascinating and informative, I have lots of interesting facts to share on the French and their apparent love of horse meat. I'm looking forward to reading more about French ways in the whole book soon!

5.0 out of 5 stars Bring on the rest of the story!, 20 Feb. 2013

I wasn't sure what to expect with this sample as used to downloading free samples where you only get one or two chapters or a series of quotes on why you should read a book - but this was so much more than that! I got totally lost in the world. I loved the characters and humour, but best of all (and unlike a lot of fantasy books I've read) I was gripped from the first page. As good as the Game of Thrones, if not better!

5.0 out of 5 stars Heartwrenching mystery, 3 Jan. 2013
The star of a Kate Shugat novel is usually Alaska, but in MIDNIGHT COME AGAIN the emotionally raw lead protagonist takes center stage. Kate is in transition as she grieves her loss while struggling to learn how to live life without her heart. Dana Stabenow serves up a fascinating and emotionally moving story line that keeps the reader's interest from first page to last. Fans of unpredictable, event-laden tales with plenty of regional color will gain much pleasure from Ms. Stabenow's latest achievement.
