4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent - just what I wanted, 25 July 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Excellent - just what I wanted...perfect for a backup flash drive for DJ sets at festivals. Means I can carry around music and it's always, literally, to hand. The only reason it only gets four stars is because the band is only *just* big enough to fit round my wrist securely. If you have very thick wrists - forget it.

Anker® 1900mAh Li-ion Battery For HTC Sensation, Sensation XE, EVO 3D

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb, very impressed, 10 Nov. 2011
I find the standard HTC battery lasts approximately one day - and that's with mobile network, bluetooth and gps switched off. I have bought another so-called extended battery (also on Amazon) and I can honestly say it was one of the most dissapointing things I have ever bought. In fact it actually lasts nearly half the time that the standard HTC battery does. Not good. This one however, is fantastic. With all the above functions switched off I can get nearly 2 days use. With them swicthed on - it still lasts more than a day. Much better than the standard battery - highly reccomended.

3.0 out of 5 stars Be warned!, 23 Feb. 2011
The picture is actually quite nice..although i think the picture on here is a little misleading.

The main problem with it is that it doesn't come assembled!! You have to build the canvas frame yourself from the parts supplied. Stretching a canvas is a real skill and doing it yourself could easily ruin it. I cannot see anything in the description that says you need to assemble it yourself so for that reason i'm leaving a poor review.

Put it this way - you get what you pay for here. Its worth the money but be prepared to spend more on it if you want the picture properly stretched on a canvas.

5.0 out of 5 stars An incredible book, 7 Sept. 2010
This book was reccommended to me by one of my martial art instructors; a former prison officer and now police officer..so I figured if anyone would know about the gulf between training and reality it would bee him.

I have trained in various martial arts for about 20 years (on and off) and have sadly been in a fair few "real life" encounters. If there is one thing I took away from them it's the fact that my finely honed and polished techniques tend not to work in the real world. This is not to say that combat training is useless; but the reality is if you try and "do a technique" you'll probably find yourself in a lot of trouble.

This book dissects the reasons behind that and examines how training can help - but only if you have the right mindset. If you genuinely believe your martial arts training will give you a huge edge in a real fight then you need to read this book. If you are interested in the theory and psychology behind confronting violence; you need to read this book. If you teach martial arts; you need to read this book.

In short...you need to read this book!

Extremely well written, engaging, often brutal but also eloquent and concise. This is an absolute must-have for anyone engaged in any form of combat training; be it classical martial arts, sports forms or even the mililtary.

Read it and read it now!

5.0 out of 5 stars Cannot wait for this!!, 25 Mar. 2010
Yes I know...i'm writing a rebview before the book is in my hands. However I've had the privilege of trainign with Dr Zoughari a couple of times and if there's one person I think can be trusted to make such a book absolutely spot on it is him.

I doubt any westerner knows this subject matter better and certainly none i've met are better at conveying it.

If I can update this review when the book finally turns up then great...if not i'll leave another one!

Drug Affliction: What You Need to Know...
Drug Affliction: What You Need to Know...
by Dr Ian Oliver

1.0 out of 5 stars Awful, only worth a look for perspective, 26 Aug. 2008
Truly awful book, written by an author of extremely dubious repute. Many of the so called facts in there are, at best, poorly researched and laid out. This book is simply another attempt to perpetuate the "just say no" approach to the drugs problem, something virtually everyone working in the field (myself included) equates with burying your head in the sand and going la la la.

The author would disagree with this but then his credentials, in the field of illicit drugs research at least, read like a list of things not to do if you want to be taken seriously.

This book is worth reading purely to gain perspective and to expose the nonsense behind a prohibitionist approach. I would welcome more of these as it is high time the idiocy of the current policies was brought to light and the perpetrators hounded out of office.

Simple fact; no matter what measure you use the "drugs war" has been a universal and abysmal failure. People who claim a moral high ground whilst pursuing some decidely immoral practices preach agospel of ignorance that fails to address the basic issues in any meaningful or efective way. This book is a glittering example of that genre.

Absolute nonsense for anyone other than serious researchers looking for the alternative perspective.

Oh and the "Doctor" title refers to a PhD in Public Administration, not a medical qualification.

1.0 out of 5 stars Utter nonsense, 16 Nov. 2007
Yes you can end up lifting huge weights as Pete Sisco suggests his 8 year old daughter is capable of now doing. This is itself is a warning bell to me. However, comparing the trainng regime to any of the main competitors in the worlds strongest man competition from the past few years shows that they are lifting considerably less weight, but are winning such competitions. Agains speaks volumes. Finally, I tried this exactly as prescribed and found that when I tried to go back to my old regime I couldnt complete even one normal sessions workout. My funcional strength had gone (relatively speaking). I wouldnt touch this again if they paid me.
