5.0 out of 5 stars Papal approval, 11 July 2010
This review is from: Rochefort 10 24x33cl (Wine)
I discovered this beer in Belgium some years ago, it is a truly wondrous beverage, rich, thick (almost syrup like), and a powerful kick. Like fine wine this beer gets better with age - which is just as well as at 11.3% you certainly do not want to drink a whole case in one sitting!

The beer is brewed by Belgium Trappist monks and boasts (rightfully) the papal seal of approval; you only need to take a sip to realize that there is no doubt that the monks of the Rochefort monastery are indeed doing gods work (unlike their counterparts at a certain bank).

There are two other versions of this beer available: #8 and #6, which are both weaker in strength and taste, but well worth a taste as they are also excellent (however at the time of writing neither are available on Amazon).

To summarize: if you are a beer lover, and you appreciate quality over quantity, then this is the drink for you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good clean (sic) fun!, 29 Dec. 2008

What can I say? The title says it all really: a whistle-stop tour to prove that our grandparent's minds were, in their day, at least as dirty and seedy as our own.

While the performances might not win any awards, the content will leave you with a smile on your face.

Like most people I tend to shoot a large number of photographs at around this focal length - pretty much anything in-doors - and while a mid-range zoom is a far more versatile instrument, one is forced to compromise on ultimate quality, with this lens quality is spot on and images emerge crystal-clear - and oh what an aperture range!

If you ever shoot in-doors or in poor light without flash, this lens is a must - and, let's be honest, can you find another quality lens for under £100? I doubt it.

You will not be disappointed.

3.0 out of 5 stars 3 stars may be harsh but..., 18 Feb. 2008

...I pass judgement here based on Morrissey's' usual high standards: I, unlike many of Morrissey fans it would seem, actually quite like the new single and it is always nice to get a new song (All You Need Is Me), but my overall impression is that I would be as well off putting his previous two (excellent) albums on shuffle, which would have had a similar effect.

Why are Morrissey's "Greatest Hits" drawn almost exclusively from two albums? This just does not make sense! Indeed if it had not been for the bonus disk I would not have bothered buying the album.

Leaving the above aside for a minute: if you own neither of Morrissey's last two albums then this is a must (and would get a 5 star rating with ease).

Clever, witty lyrics delivered in an oh so soothing fashion: the fact that this band are not more widely known is a sad indictment of the music buying public, but the loss is theirs and theirs alone as they are missing a real gem.
