As an vegetarian who exercises and briefly went vegan for lent and lured by the low price I gave this Bulk Powders Brown Rice Protein a try. Its taste and texture is like something for constructing walls - drinking plaster of paris. In fairness brown rice protein from rival brand MyProtein was grittier - but this doesn't mix well and was only palatable with honey and vanilla essence. I gave it two stars because it does the job nutritionally but I would pay more for taste next time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly effective for what looks like cheap tat, 17 Dec. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I didn't have high hopes for this, but the light is surprisingly bright (I felt safe cycling round London) and the attachment mechanism means it never falls off (one piece of advice - take it off every time, as bike lights are like skittles for petty thieves). So all in all excellent.

My only advice is order from a UK seller as I waited a month from Hong Kong.

4.0 out of 5 stars Essential for PGCE, 17 Dec. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
On my core reading list. Very worthwhile read that I'll probably come back to in years to come which justifies investing in a copy and not waiting for a library copy. Particularly enjoy the philosophy of education debate, which is offers critical but fair review of some of Gove's more recent changes.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for the price, but bass-heavy., 17 Dec. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Bought these based on Amazon propularity.

Pros:
1) Good quality for the price (I paid £10).
2) Case protects the phones well and is a nice bonus feature.
3) Looks - I personally like the red wire.

Cons
1) Bass. JVC seem to have followed Dr Dre Beats headphones in choosing to exaggerate the bass over subtlety.
2) The case falls apart easily. It's easily put back together but a small point of irritation.

Overall 6/10. If I was buying again I'd consider investing more for a more rounded sound, and investing in a small zip case, or the Sony winding case, which is excellent.

Vintage Retro Union Jack Thickly Padded Draught Excluder
Vintage Retro Union Jack Thickly Padded Draught Excluder

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for the price but light, 17 Dec. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
It's half the price of a comparable product from my local Sainsbury's.

Looks nice.

Only criticism is that a "heftier" draught excluder could probably do more. This is quite lightweight and can't really get snug at the bottom of a door because attempted to shove it in will just make it bounce out.

All in all 7/10.

2.0 out of 5 stars Didn't work for me, 17 Dec. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Two main problems.

1) the instructions didn't make it clear which side to stick to the window and which side stays out. I mean they're both meant to be sticky and the instructions just say "remove protective film" so how am I to know?

2) More importantly, while I saw 6 fungus gnats on the trap once, they weren't stuck there. May relate to point 1.

Making Space: Creating a Home Meditation Practice

5.0 out of 5 stars Good things come in small packages, 11 Feb. 2013
I read this book in half an hour - it really is that small - but don't underestimate how powerful it is. What appealed to me as an action-oriented person was the concrete advice - things to say quietly in your mind while you breathe deeply etc - and the tone of the book was wonderfully kind. I felt my body physically relax while reading. The other mediation books I picked up in the book shop I found too long-winded as a newbie and ironically make meditation seem like harder work than it is. Hanh's top-pocket sized book really is a gem.

Howard Leight Fusion Corded Earplugs, SNR 28dB - Regular
Offered by Rubber Soul Healthcare
Price: £2.89

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, 2 Jan. 2013
For a pair of re-usable headphones under £3 I can't fault these. They reduce sound well on trains (yet to try out at gigs) and have a similar triple-rubber-flap design to much more expensive pairs. They've cut costs in sensible places (case looks like a toy from a cracker) so all in all, worth a punt.

3.0 out of 5 stars Short and sweet, 18 Jan. 2008
Blue Harvest has got everything you ever loved about the movie Spaceballs and more. Stewie makes a hilarious Darth Vader, and all the trademark Family Guy humour is there from the outset.

But as a word of warning, have no confusion about what you're getting here: it's a double episode, not a full feature. Many of you will be left wanting more for your ten pounds, especially when this is bound to be included in the season 6 boxset next Christmas. But if you simply can't wait that long, you'll enjoy every minute.

Killing Sound
Killing Sound
Price: £6.75

5.0 out of 5 stars Raggacore comes of age, 16 April 2006
This review is from: Killing Sound (Audio CD)
If you've ever heard a mix by the US artist Bong-Ra, or The Bug's 2003 album "Pressure", you'll be familiar with the Raggacore sound.
Two parts Dancehall, one part Breakcore and a large dash of raw fury, energy is pretty high from the word 'go' - and it's infectious.

There's a good variety of vocal talent here, but no weak links as far as I can see. In all counts, expect something closer to a
fiery sounclash by Capleton or Bounty Killer. that said, you might be put off coming at this purely from a Bashment perspective - it's like nothing you'd hear on the dancefloor though remember it won't be as glitchy as the latter.

While the album "Pressure" took many roots-laden breaks to chill out amongst all the violence, this keeps things on a high.
Killing Sound may seem simple in this way - but for my money, consistency is a good thing. The Bonus CD of instrumentals only adds to the value.
