5.0 out of 5 stars Well paced thriller, 1 Jun. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Jumps about a bit between past and present which was confusing at times given the complexity of the plot but it rattles along at a fair pace and it all comes together at the end somewhat unexpectedly. I for one will certainly be reading the next one in the series

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it, 20 May 2015

Who knows whether the Templars thrive today but the author skilled story telling has me believing they did but as much as I would like to believe it could happen I Cannot see the Roman Catholic church getting a pope like the one the author creates which brings the story together but hopefully the author has a sequel in mind for the pope and the Templars as he has created a wonderful array of characters who I for one would like to read more of

5.0 out of 5 stars As good a thriller as you can get, 20 May 2015

First class thriller with excellent characterisation that make it a real page turner hence why I am posting a review in the wee small hours having started reading it after dinner. Whether in the Whitehouse, the Canadian sub, the fishing boat or the b52s the intensity draws you in and brings you out in a cold sweat and I thought the turn of events at the end very cleverly constructed to give a very unexpected finale. Hugely recommended

Gave it up after half a dozen chapters - just too predictable and having no empathy for any of the characters was not prepared to persevere as I doubt it improves to the extent that I would want to turn over another page

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely brilliant, 18 April 2015

Despite the small pool of suspects, all of them policemen the author weaves a gripping tale of the hunt for the murderer as hurricane Katrina sweeps across the gulf and unleashes herself upon the city

The Immortal Madonna
The Immortal Madonna

2.0 out of 5 stars A half decent plot hijacked by wishful thinking, 13 April 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Having persevered with the history lecture in the early chapters the story picks up pace only to deteriorate into a disappointing finale

It says a gripping detective thriller that you will not be able to put down - well I did after 3 chapters - about as thrilling as watching paint dry

Somewhat gruesome but a well constructed thriller as the police chase down a serial killer who does not actually want to kill his victims !
On the strength of this I will probably look for more from this author.

3.0 out of 5 stars useful for train/bus/tube tickets and a flap for something larger ..., 4 Mar. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
We brought two of these as it looked as if it would be everything we wanted ie a case, pen and screen protector for under a fiver delivered.
Black for me and orange for my wife. Black is black and the orange actually looks orange although not as bright as the phone, so a star for the colour.
The case is similar to the ones we have for our Kindles with a magnet lock and an inside wallet with 3 credit card slots, useful for train/bus/tube tickets and a flap for something larger if you care to use it. The pre-cut holes are well located so turning the phone on and off, using the camera and headphones are all fine so a couple of stars for that. It is a synthetic leather and of reasonable quality so I am anticipating that it will last a while.
We only received one screen protector not two and the one we did receive - absolutely useless as it is impossible to flatten out the air bubbles so it has been discarded. No fourth star for that.
The pen clipping into the headphones a great idea. It is retractable so you can lengthen it HOWEVER you cannot use it whilst clipped into the headphone socket as the lead is no where near long enough AND you cannot actually store the pen anywhere when attached to the phone and not in use so it hangs lose. If you tuck it down the spine you cannot close the cover so that has also been discarded. No fifth star either.
So in summary - if you want an inexpensive wallet style phone case this is not a bad purchase for under a fiver but do not buy it over another if price is the criteria because of the 'added value items' .
