4.0 out of 5 stars Not a far cry from its true potential..., 31 Oct. 2008
This review is from: Far Cry 2 (PS3) (Video Game)
I got this game on release day, and I have to say that I am overall impressed by the look, feel, and sound of the game. There's a lot of variety and things to do, but after playing for over 6 hours I'm left feeling like this game could have been so much more. i.e. The choice of vehicles should be greater, the leveling up system for weapons should have been more in-depth, and the mission types should have been more varied.

All in all, this is a very good FPS, but one that I'll definately trade away for the upcoming Resistance 2!

4.0 out of 5 stars Meh, 25 Oct. 2008

These are my second pair of CX400's. Got the first pair for my MP3 player, and these for my white PSP.

Have to say that the sound is great, and comes without any problems. The main issues with these headphones is in the construction, as the cables fray without proper TLC!

Got this as a gym bag. Love the internal space and look of it, but lacking in options for placing items such as keys and phone!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fifa 09...Almost there!, 4 Oct. 2008
This review is from: FIFA 09 (PS3) (Video Game)
Having played the demo for this game, I was very much looking forward to the full game, and felt it was better to hold my review until I had played the full game. So far, so good, having had over 24 hrs with the full game I can saw with full confidence that EA have put out a game that surely challenges the "realism" of PES.

In short, this game offers a more sim-like approach to footie, not as hardcore as PES, but at the same time managing to strike a balance. It is rewarding, and doesn't punish the gamer, allowing the user to settle into a more controlled approach. The player animations are very good, and 9 out of 10 times would be in-sync with the action taking place on screen.

My only gripe about the game so far is the way in which certain players stats and abilities have been boosted beyond realism, i.e. Christiano Ronaldo is "UNTOUCHABLE", but with the added extra of Adidas Live, player stats can be tracked week by week and offer a fairer estimation of how well that player is in the realworld, thus in game stats can change. The only downside is that you have to shell out £4.99 to get this feature, which to my knowledge is only available online.

There seems to have been improvements on the EA server, which in the FIFA 08 season suffered from chronic disconnection issues. 7 of every 10 games begin without a hitch, and the new management setup screen allows more time for in-depth tinkering with formations, squads and tactics.

All in all, FIFA 09 has definately come up as the suitable challenger for the footie crown, if it already doesnt have "that" crown. But with the EA mentality of measured progression, you could almost feel that EA have won the battle whilst Konami languishes with PES, a game that did it ALL but recently shows very little innovation year by year!

5.0 out of 5 stars Top Marks... well after a little hiccup!, 28 Jan. 2008

An excellent bit of kit for the pricing you are paying. A small and compact player, earphones are a bit of a let down, but nonetheless a very suitable iPod 2nd gen nano alternative.

*Update - 27 July 2008*
I have now been using this player for well over 6 months, and so far so good. The main headache with this player is that you need to carry out system updates to iron out any bugs, but suprisingly after my first update I was able to use the Radio function in the player, which previously not a selectable option. So definately worth a lot more now with added radio capabilities.

The Micro SD expansion slot works a treat! Now using a 4GB card, and that allows for a lot of flexibility in the types of data I can carry on it i.e. not only music!

Structurely the player is perfect, it has recieved A LOT of knocks, bumps and drops, but so far the little guy seems to just take it all in his strides. Definately happy with this over the long run.
Ipods are overrated, Sansa is the way forward!

*Update - 25 Oct 2008*
I have now had the player for just under a year, and I must say that its definately GREAT value for your money - £25. The only issue is that the player is not compatible with SDHC cards, which was a wasted 4GB!
