Pointlessly flawed, 9 May 2014
A highly contained man living a life of solitude on a small yacht sailing the open ocean slowly starts to come apart along with his boat as he progresses through a series of challenges that finally has him reaching for help.
Neither the sole actor nor the director really pull this off, in a production that was distracting to the viewer with so many pointless activities that in many cases where embarrassingly flawed to anyone who has spent time as a sailor.
Not even Redford's charming gravitas or the thrilling cinematography could keep this one above water.
