4.0 out of 5 stars Great game, not my favourite in the series, 15 Aug. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Ezio's adventure has been wonderful. He's probably my favorite character in this generation of consoles.

So back to Revelations .... it's good, very good, but I'm not enjoying it as much as I did Brotherhood. It's hard to say exactly why, maybe there is very little new and what is new isn't actually much fun, (AC tower defense I'm talking to you). The sections involving Desmond have always been some sort of penance you have to pay to get back to the game you really want to play and I found I disliked them even more this time around.

Before this turns into a 2 star review ... It's still a great game and well worth playing. The basic game mechanics are just as good as they have been since the start of Ezio's adventure, I particularly enjoy rebuild the city, managing the team of Assassins all the while playing out Ezio's story.

So 4 out of 5, which would have been a 5 if they'd introduced some good new mechanics.

Roll on AC 3, can't wait.

4.0 out of 5 stars Daughter loves it, 15 Aug. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
My five year old is so happy with this, it warrants a quick rating.

Just discovered you've got to have at least 20 words. OK then, as a middle aged man it's not really my thing, but my daughter thinks it's great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent memory at a good price, 15 Aug. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Purchased as an upgrade for an iMac, works perfectly. To be honest though Crucial Memory has always worked perfectly.

Other than that it's exactly as described and proving to be the best £40 spent this year. The extra 8GB means I can give the Parallels Windows 7 VM a full 4GB which means that both OS run perfectly simultaneously. Switching between OS is now as simple as swiping left and right.

Does exactly what it claims, and works perfectly. If you've got old drives lying around this is the perfect add on.

3.0 out of 5 stars Rating based on replacing a SB X-FI card, 15 Aug. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a very good sound-card, unfortunately Creative did a very good job with the previous generation card the X-FI. As a replacement it's offered very little. For the most part the features are virtually the same. Having enjoyed the sound from the X-FI I'd be hard pressed to say the sound quality is any better.

It's nice now to have a system that only requires PCI-E slots and that alone has just about justified the purchase.

If you've already got a Soundblaster X-FI, I'd think twice before buy this. If you're using on-board sound then it's an excellent purchase.

So if you've not got a dedicated sound card, feel free to add a star or two to my rating.

2.0 out of 5 stars Blizzard's decline, 3 Jun. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Diablo III (PC/Mac DVD) (DVD-ROM)
A crushing disappointment, graphically on a different level to Diablo 2, but lacking the gameplay.

Without the option to develop the character the way you want it loses most of the appeal. The replacement to the skill tree and attribute control is inferior in every way. The end result is a shallow experience with a very simple game mechanic.

This alone is enough to earn the game a maximum rating of three stars, but the connectivity issues have turned the release into an industry joke. This is the first time I've ever come across lag in a single player mode, nightmare mode is proving unplayable as I keep getting killed by lag. It's hard to believe this is from the same company that's been running the worlds largest MMO for years.

Here's hoping Torchlight 2 turns out to be the Diablo 2 sequel I've been waiting for, as Diablo 3 sure isn't.

1.0 out of 5 stars Complete waste of money, 5 Feb. 2012
Maps provided in the game are better, this is a quick cash in with no real value. Hopefully we'll see a better guide soon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Four excellent films for a good price., 30 Jan. 2012

I bought this before Christmas for £19.99, at that price it was an absolute bargain. Even at £29.99 these are 4 excellent films and well worth the money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Product is great, but anything over £12.50 is over priced !!!, 30 Jan. 2012
My daughter loves both the cards and the binder, so was worth the money. Just make sure you don't pay more than the price you'd pay if you went to Tesco. 10 Packs of cards should cost you £7.50 the binder if £4.99, so if you're paying more than £12.50 then you're being ripped off.

3.0 out of 5 stars Two Netgear Switches died within 2 years, 13 Nov. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Less a review more an explanation. I've just had my second Netgear 8 Port switch die on me, which I've replaced with a TP Link. I bought this one 2 years ago, the previous netgear switch to die lasted about 16 months. So what's the life on a non commercial switch? The switch worked just fine up until the point where it died, so not 1 star. Personally I think a switch should last at least 3 years so for me this warrants a 3 star rating.
