5.0 out of 5 stars And she simply disappeared., 1 July 2016
This review is from: Dear Amy (Kindle Edition)
I really enjoyed this book, and it had me in suspense throughout the story. There were many twists and turns in it, the passages of time from a girl who went missing having left home in the rain to suddenly find a school teacher(who was an Agony Aunt) receiving letters from a girl who has simply disappeared years before was mystifying. The story-line has one sitting on the edge of your seat as you follow the different leads, experiencing what the young girl felt whilst being kept hidden away. The criminologist who appears on the scene, can you trust him? Can you trust anyone? Who was this person who kept this young girl hidden, or was she not a young girl anymore? Is she really still alive? It was extremely difficult to put this book down and towards the end as the threads began to unravel and one begins to piece together different parts, the jigsaw became a picture. Would recommend this book, I was captivated by it from the first off.

It was a good read and gave an overall account of what happened. I've never read Anne Franks diary, and this has inspired me to do so. Very easy to read, well written and I would certainly recommend this book for anyone wanting to understand what happened during this period of history.

5.0 out of 5 stars a great read, 7 May 2016

I really enjoyed these books. I had read the first one, and found it gripped my attention from the start. I ordered the complete set, re-read the first book to refresh my memory. I couldn't put the books down. There were so many twists and turns in the story line, which when you think of different authors continuing the story line in the next section is really quite a feat. Well done to all. There were the cliff hangers at the end of the individual books. Suspense fast thrilling action throughout. I would recommend these books, well worth the money and takes the reader on an exciting journey the whole time. The characters are well thought out each touching your emotions along the way as you become absorbed in the action. Fast and furious is the pace, leaving the reader quite breathless at times from the adrenaline which flows through your body during the action.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really pleased with it, 18 Jan. 2016

Really pleased with it. Remains light weight. Learning to use a 'touch sensitive screen' which is very different to me, but am enjoying it. I have downloaded all my books from the cloud on to it, sadly only 10 at a time, which took quite a while. Also I was sorry that I lost some of my books from Netgally as obviously having downloaded from them, I could not save them. Love the features on the Kindle, and really very please with it. A good price as I don't need a tablet to read books on. this really fits my purpose, and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in the Kindle, in fact, I did today!

5.0 out of 5 stars A challenging and absorbing story., 15 Sept. 2015

What a wonderful story. I haven't read one of her books for a long time, and it was so refreshing not to read of sex scenes etc. which tends to go with other authors to make a good story line. Danielle Steel has once again woven into the fabric of her story some interesting characters and situations. Having worked with children in wheelchairs, I was amazed at the depth of insight portrayed here, with the hurdles the children have to face, their determination, and of course, the pain the parents go through too. The story line had it's sad moments, but so does life. How the characters worked through those situations were challenging, they felt were so real, even down to the children's' reactions for moving! Well done Danielle Steel for a great book. Well worth curling up for with a mug of coffee.

Pure escapism! Love it, delightful. Loved the banter between the characters. Brought back memories of Italy - although mine was spent in the rain! What a challenge, what a girl. Cars really can be interesting. Look forward to reading some more books of Jules Wake.

5.0 out of 5 stars What an escape!, 20 July 2015

Great story line. Characters were quite different so kept the dialogue interesting and entertaining. Quiet funny at times and at other times one really gets quite annoyed with Ted and his family, and of course the Bride to be monther! Kate is a fun loving woman who suddenly finds out a few home truths and quits her engagement weeks before her marriage! Quite something, but she lives through it and as the storyline unfolds encounters some 'interesting' people. She is quite level headed and responds well to difficult situations. Loved the storyline, couldn't put the book down and was sorry when I'd finished reading it.
