5.0 out of 5 stars Ug ripping noise, 7 Sept. 2014

Searing. As good as this is, it's worth seeking out the beer coloured vinyl for just a little more high fidelity, and a great product/conversation starter.

Arndales are tremendous. I 'heart' Arndales. A very brief collection, but very crunchy.

5.0 out of 5 stars BAST in show, 1 Mar. 2012
This review is from: BAST (Kindle Edition)
An excellent gallop, succinctly praising and damning various bits, pieces and ephemera of modern life. I bought a hard copy of this, but it's going to look (and read) an ABSOLUTE TREAT on the Kindles. Author is the same brains behind the unnervingly splendid An Indian Calling; a very different piece altogether. While this costs LESS than half a pint of ale (March 2012 prices) anyone even wondering whether or not to give this a go would be a fool not to.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mixed bag, 28 Nov. 2011
Crunching garage punk/surf instrumental tunes; some old, some new, from crazy CRAZY band from South England, UK. This is great value; also look up "Honolulu Suncream" from the same combo.Honolulu Suncream

5.0 out of 5 stars Home Counties Surf and Turf, 24 Nov. 2009
This review is from: Honolulu Suncream (MP3 Download)
Another Knockouts release; but who is this shadowy band? The Knockouts is (or are) a band shrouded in mystery. Pity, really, as the tracks on Honolulu Suncream suggest they would go down a storm, given the right club night. Tracks like Randall Accessible, Alabama Wild Man and the Casio-drenched masterpiece Vulture Circle should fall as comfortably into fans of art/garage punk, as well as slightly older influences like Link Wray. Loud, abrasive, instrumental and easy to listen to.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mods, Scoops and motor vehicles, 11 Oct. 2005
This review is from: An Indian Calling (Paperback)
This is a stonking piece of work. Brash, bold and funny as hell. The narrator is a mod, or an ex-mod, trying to escape Market Research in a land he feels he might pull it off. What follows is an excellent acceptance/avoidance of work in the sub-continent, observed and suffered through the author's sometimes self-deprecating eye. Memorable scenes include the arrival of Mr Sherdian senior and the 'Lion King' blessing of the house.

5.0 out of 5 stars football as an artform, 5 May 2001
This might sound like an average fan's season, and in many ways it is. And yet this gem is much more than that. Much more. Kingston's rapier dash and wit conjure up the kidney burgers, the onions and the deep heat of Division 2. Penmanship is premier league however. This might just survive the test of time, and long be remembered as 'the' supporter diary. I love this guy!
