Quality control issues!!, 21 Feb. 2013
These bino's are a case of you get what you pay for!!
1st pair looked ok apart from a large mark on the front lens which wouldn't clean off, looked like a blob of glue, didn't want this to spoil the view these should offer, so contacted Amazon for a replacement pair, which promptly arrived;
2nd pair were clearly 2nd hand and refurbished by someone (badly) there was yellow markings put on by the person doing the refurbishment, burred up screw heads all over the casing which stood out because they should be black (looked like they had used on oversized phillips screwdriver instead of the correct size) and glue that was oozing out around the edge of one of the front lenses, i was very disappointed to have received this through the post as I was expecting a new pair! i suspect the issue lies with quality control at Celestron, or i had been sent a previous customers reject, on the plus side Amazons return process was great and I have received a refund this time to put towards a new skywatcher telescope instead.
Overall very disappointed with the quality of these items, i suppose it was too much to ask for a decent pair around the £60 mark, although incidentally both pairs appeared to be collimated correctly which was my main concern after reading the other reviews, Avoid and save yourself the hassle...
