Bellona (Part 1.5 of The Saskia Trilogy)
Bellona (Part 1.5 of The Saskia Trilogy)
Price: £0.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Suspenseful & Dark, 3 July 2016
'Bellona' is the origin story of the evil queen from the Saskia trilogy. It's a dark and powerful read that shows why Bellona is the way that she is. Her parents and the man she is meant to marry play their parts in her unravelling. It's a suspenseful read that will take you on an emotional rollercoaster through one tortured woman's life. The ending is a real nail-biter. Highly recommended!

'The Games of Supervillainy' is the second book in the supervillainy saga of Merciless a.k.a Gary. The first book was great and this one is more of the same; fun characters, witty dialogue, a bit of action and some nice surprises. Very entertaining. I love the sense of humour, and the ending is a shocker! Highly recommended to fans of action-packed urban fantasy and supervillain stories!

Inkubus
Inkubus
Price: £2.61

4.0 out of 5 stars Dark & Steamy, 3 July 2016
This review is from: Inkubus (Kindle Edition)
'Inkubus' is the story of an incubus and the woman he falls for who has schizophrenia. The premise was really intriguing and it played out well. At the beginning I was slightly confused but a few chapters in things made more sense and the story became compelling pretty quickly. It was an interesting read with steamy moments and likeable main characters. Highly recommended to fans of paranormal romance who like a dark read with complex characters.

5.0 out of 5 stars Different & Interesting, 3 July 2016
'Gifts from the Dark: A Miscellany of Dread' is a wonderfully diverse collection of short stories and poems with the theme of Dread. I enjoyed the stories very much, in particular the one at the beginning about the stalker. I highly recommend this collection to short story fans who want something decidedly different and interesting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Fantasy, 3 July 2016

'Year of the Dragon' is the third book in the awesome Changeling Sisters series and it's a book I'd been anxiously waiting for. The world is so immersive and different from anything else in the genre. I adore the characters; Citlalli has gone through some changes and following her story is thoroughly entertaining, and I'm still very intrigued by Khyber and the way things are unfolding for him. I only wish the next book was already available as coming to the end of this one was sweet torture! This is an amazing fantasy read that I would recommend to anyone who likes fantasy. Highly recommended!

Bad Things that Happen to Girls
Bad Things that Happen to Girls
Price: £2.10

5.0 out of 5 stars Dark & Compelling, 3 July 2016
'Bad Things that Happen to Girls' is a novella about the awful things that teen girls have go through, in particular things the main character and her sister go through. It's a dark drama dealing with relationships, and one messed up family's implosion which makes for an utterly compelling read. Highly recommended to those who prefer darker literary fiction that deals with mature themes.

Bet On Me
Bet On Me
Price: £0.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Suspenseful Romance, 23 May 2016
This review is from: Bet On Me (Kindle Edition)
'Bet on Me' is the story of Alaya, a young woman setting off on a journey to Europe to seek out adventure. What she doesn't expect to find is an intriguing guy on the run from his past. Sparks fly as they begin to take a gamble on each other.

I was really intrigued by the premise of the story and it didn't disappoint. This book is full of suspense and the chemistry between Alaya and Cole is scorching. The characters are well developed and believable, as well as very likeable. I got emotionally involved in the story very quickly and worried for the characters when the worst started to happen. I was on the edge of my seat when Cole's back story was revealed. The last quarter of the book is very tense and the ending satisfying.

Overall, this is a thrilling romantic suspense novel I would highly recommend to fans of the genre.

Note: I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining Romance!, 1 May 2016

This review is from: The Dating Game (Kindle Edition)
'The Dating Game' is a rom-com that tells the story of bestselling author Rita Davies, a single girl determined to find a man.

I was hooked from the first page. Rita as the narrator was entertaining and genuinely hilarious at times. The book sparkles with her vibrant personality and this makes it very hard to put down! I read this over a couple of days and enjoyed every moment. The romance element is steamy when Rita becomes involved with a man she might fall for, but there's more than one hunk on her radar.

Overall this is an engaging romance with an excellent sense of humour. I can't recommend it highly enough to fans of romantic reads. Don't waste time, pick this up now and prepare to be hooked!

Esoterrorism: From the Secret Files of the Red Room
Esoterrorism: From the Secret Files of the Red Room
Price: £2.99

4.0 out of 5 stars An Entertaining Start, 18 April 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
'Esoterrorism' is the start of an urban fantasy series about Red Room agent Derek Hawthorne.

I read this within a few days. It's a pretty entertaining urban fantasy novel with some really cool characters. I read a lot of urban fantasy and this seemed a little different. It had plenty of action, witty dialogue and as I said the characters were excellent. There was a romantic element but this wasn't played up too much. In a way it reminded me of Simon Green's Secret Histories series, both in terms of writing style and some of the premise, which was great as he's one of my all time favourite authors. Suffice it to say I'll be interested to see where this series goes.

Overall this is an entertaining start to an interesting new series. I would recommend it to fans of urban fantasy.

Gypsies, Tramps and Weeia (The Weeia Marshals Book 1)
Gypsies, Tramps and Weeia (The Weeia Marshals Book 1)
Price: £4.04

4.0 out of 5 stars Well Written Mystery, 18 April 2016
'Gypsies, Tramps & Weeia' is the story of Weeia Marshal Danni as she is sent on assignment to Paris.

This book had a very Nancy Drew sort of vibe to it, with an added dash of fantasy, as the main character is sent to Paris and gets settled in before becoming involved in an investigation that takes a few unexpected turns. The main story is a mystery but there is also a hint of romance as Danni finds herself attracted to two very different men, and there's also a little bit of action. The setting was so well written that it was easy to immerse myself in the new country Danni finds herself moving to. This seems to be the start of a series so fans of this book will have more to look forward to!

Overall this is a slow burning read that fans of mystery and clean romance should thoroughly enjoy.
