4.0 out of 5 stars Good idea, needs some work, 4 Oct. 2015
The authors tone is somewhat dogmatic, not to say patronising on occasion, but the idea of a geo-referenced guide is good, and the links work. The information on places to stay is clearly laid out, but missing the opening times. This book works better on a phone than on a kindle, except that using the maps isn't very easy with a small screen, needing a lot of zooming and panning. I look forward to an expanded edition, covering rather more of the Camino, and with albergue opening times.
I would love to be able to open the GPS reference directly in a map application.

1.0 out of 5 stars please proof read, 19 Nov. 2014
Appalling errors of transatlantic spelling and multiple examples of the use of incorrect words (too instead of to, course for coarse to give two, or possibly too examples) made this book unreadable for me.
I might be persuaded to have another attempt if a human proof reader spends some time rectifying at least the most blatant examples of the ignorant use of a spell checker.

3.0 out of 5 stars Don't get it for Kindle, 8 Dec. 2013

Classic reference work which when I update saw was available for Kindle. Great, says I and bought it. The big snag is that I don't get the CD with all the rest of the information. Now I would have thought it easy enough to give me a download link, but I don't see one anywhere. Hence three stars, as otherwise it would have been five.

A whole new take on population and abortion issues, set in a dystopian future not so far from our own. The standpoint from which the book is written is that of a young girl growing up with a perceived disability in a work in which potentially disabled foetuses are grown to birth date in an uterine replicator, then shipped off to a new planet, growing up on the spaceship. Thought provoking, well written, and even witty. Well worth getting.

Started well, although there isn't a plot as such, just a girl meets boy, finally gets married after a bit of dithering around. Nice touch to have the quotes from the children's book. Actually, just the childrens' book might have been preferable, as the promising start soon degenerates into slop and drivel. The large and indigestable slab of Christianity layered on top in no way helps the lame progression of this trivial work.

What is the idea of the list of discussion points at the end? Is this meant for reading groups? If so, what sort of feeble minded group could actually choose this twaddle when there are so many good or even great books that actually merit discussion?

The initial premise could have been interesting, but it will be a wet day in hell before I try anything else by this author. Even free it wasn't worth the investment in time.

This is a real find. Well written, well researched with a strong storyline and well rounded characters. There is a lot of good stuff in the kindle bargain box, but sometimes it takes some finding. This one was worth digging for. An historical novel with a love story and lots of action, properly proofread and edited. I won't spoil the read with too much of a synopsis, but there is action supported by good though not tedious background description. Hard to put down.

Did anyone bother to proof-read this? The story might be readable if one could manage to ignore the sloppy grammar, multiple typos, and variable size typescript.

Unlikely plot, but the protagonist is amusing, and the story (almost) flows. The stumbling block is the author's habit of giving definitions of potentially unfamiliar words. If I don't understand a word I own a dictionary, thank you. Once I got over this annoyance I enjoyed the story as an easy read. Don't expect several layers of meaning, this is not great literature but it isn't a total waste of time. Some critical editing would have been a good idea, and there are points where the author loses momentum, but as a free book it is worth a try.

The end of days will probably have more of interest than this deeply silly book. No plot, poor characterisation, dubious theology and no scholarship, and no point reading it.

The plot is derivative and the writing stodgy. I would not care to insult any young adults by suggesting that they read this. Free does not mean good value, the time spent reading a bad book comes out of your life just as if it were a good book.
