Optimum Men's Cycling Short Sleeve Jersey - Red, Medium

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice shirt, but as others have noted, 19 May 2017

Nice shirt, but as others have noted, the zip is really poor - it's very tight and hard to do up and particularly to undo. Also the fit is a little on the snug size/

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice shirt, shame about the collar, 19 May 2017
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Nice shirt for the summer, giving an option to avoiding (or at least varying) the cyclist tan lines. My major gripe is with the collar design - it's shaped far too high at the front, so it rubs on the front of the neck in a really annoying fashion, even with the collar unzipped; turning the collar down all around makes it usable, but bear that in mind when considering this shirt.

2.0 out of 5 stars Law of diminishing returns embodied, 7 April 2017
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The series started with an interesting concept, but each successive book has been worse than the last, with cardboard characters, unconvincing plots, leaden dialogue and no dramatic tension. This one shamelessly parachutes in a Deus Ex Machina solution to the major threat in the book, with virtually no development at all.

As ever, any book with Pratchett's name on it gets an overwhelming majority of 5-star reviews, regardless of the actual quality of the book, but this really isn't very good at all, and certainly doesn't bear any comparison to the genuinely great work he's done elsewhere.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really excellent lock, but be wary over door thickness, 4 Feb. 2017
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Enfield Garage Door Bolts
Really pleased with this. The only caveat is that you need to be careful about the thickness of the door you're mounting on (which is pretty obvious really). I've mounted it onto a wooden, side-hinged garage door, and once the lock was in place on one side and the escutcheon on the other side, it was just too thick for the (long) key to engage enough to turn. I also needed to find longer bolts than the ones supplied.

As in any DIY job, measure first or repent at leisure. I had to sink the lock slightly into the door to shorten the distance from the key entry

Decent shirt, but the colours are too light - the West Ham one is more pink than Claret

4.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous at cleaning, but gets used up quickly, 20 Jun. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Fabulously good for cleaning a bike chain - mine hasn't been this clean since I bought the bike. The only minus point is that I did have to use a lot of it to clean the chain (which was admittendly filthy!), so it didn't last very long - basically exhausted the whole can on one clean.

Now, in fairness, on a less abused chain, you'd probably get more uses out of it, but even so, a bit disappointing

The gear scraper was really useful - got stuff out from amongst the cogs that I had no idea was even in there. Not so impressed with the brush - the bristles aren't really strong enough to shift much dirt, though conversely they don't scratch the paintwork

3.0 out of 5 stars Enough already with the tedious Void!, 8 April 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Hamilton obvious is heavily committed to the Void aspect of his Commonwealth universe, but unfortunately none of the previous Void books have been very good, and this isn't the one that breaks that trend.

The outside-Void parts of the book are fine, and the bits regarding the characters from outside the Void are largely fine, but the majority of the Void content is as turgid and uninteresting as it was in the last 3 books, and I found those sections a real chore to read.

Basically, you've got a sci-fi explorer novel and an sci-fantasy "magic"/mental powers novel grafted together in a way which isn't satisfactory to either.

2.0 out of 5 stars Pulp ficture, and not in a good sense, 8 Mar. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
One of the other reviews describes this as pulp fiction, and I agree with that. It's written in a style reminiscent of 50s SF. Where opinions differ is whether it transcends the style - I don't think it does, at all. I've got through the first 4 chapters and I've had enough, the writing is just dreadful and there isn't enough going on in the plot to make up for it.
