1.0 out of 5 stars Overpriced, poor quality item, 20 Dec. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Looks like a lovely little lipstick holder, but was very disappointed when it was received. It should be half the price for the quality - more like a cracker quality item or a stocking filler for a young girl. Very deceptive - was expecting a higher quality for the price although realistically knew it was not going to be premium brand. Wanted to see what it was like and was going to by for my daughters friends.
Certainly not going to be recommended or purchased again. Sorry.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dont bother if you have Windows 7 - Does not work, 24 Nov. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Looks fantastic when you open it and would have been the perfect gift. However, very, very disappointed with this product. Bought 2 after reading many reviews. They were supposed to be stocking fillers for my children (as previously mentioned they would have been thrilled as they look great and wonderful colours)BUT the software that is supposed to automatically load once you plug the usb cable into the computer simply does not work. Windows 7 does not even recognise that there is a device attached.

I do not have a PC with vista or earlier versions of windows for me to attempt transferring photos with different software.

The seller has been very good with communication and am now sending back for a full refund. So no complaints there, although I do feel that the technical details should be updated to reflect which Windows software is required to use this product.

If you have windows 7, dont bother, otherwise it looks like from other reviews it works very well without the frustration I have had.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great toy and occupies from children to grannies, 27 Oct. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Bought one of these for my 8 year old sons birthday and has created many hours of activity for everyone in the family. Granny hogged it for a long time trying to get it right and following that each of the family members has had a go. Have had it for 6 months now and although the outer plastic seems a little flimsy it is robust and has not broken even having been dropped a few times. Has been taken to school on occassion and created much envy among friends. Good for concentration, co-ordination and silence! Would recommend it as a gift and the smaller one would be a very good stocking filler. Would not need more than one in a household though as everyone can share and it is not used every day.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good activity book without realising actually learning times tables, 27 Oct. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Bought this for my 11 year old daughter who loves to colour but struggles at school. She is very methodical and enjoyed the entire process of colouring in the tables and finding out what pictures they make. It is not a substitute for the donkey work of repeating times tables over and over again but rather a reinforcement of the ideas of patterns & tables in maths. She thoroughly enjoyed completing this book and was done in a few days. Had to get one for my 8 year old son as well who does not struggle with school but also enjoyed the activity. Would definitely recommend it as a good activity book but dont expect it to teach the times tables so they know it backwards. We have used this in conjunction with the times tables songs CD (link attached) and the old fashioned mum in the car times tables tests.Tables Songs (The playtime range)

5.0 out of 5 stars Stocking filler, party bag filler - cant go wrong with the price, 27 Oct. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Well my thinking was you are not going to get the best quality for the price but on arrival it is a good product with the most important thing - a decent box to put it all away in when they have finished. Have bought one for an 8 year old boy stocking filler as he is mad about dominoes although he will also be getting a 'proper' set under the Xmas tree. Perfect size and price for a stocking filler or childrens party gift - better than sweets and chocolates. Can't go wrong.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent pencil sharpener, great for stocking filler or school pencil case, 27 Oct. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Granny bought one of these for our son which stays at her house but having seen it in action had to purchase a couple for Xmas stockings this year. Works brilliantly and best of all - NO MESS. Brilliant for an 8 year old boy who does not seem to be able to get pencil sharpenings to land in the waste paper basket, but rather decorate the bedroom floor regularly. Cant get for one without the other so 11 year old will be getting one too. Quality item - no regrets and best of all less work for the hoover and mum!

5.0 out of 5 stars 100% best book purchase of the year for a reluctant reader, 27 Oct. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Magic Faraway Tree (Paperback)
Can only echo everyone else's opinions of these magical Enid Blyton books. I loved them as a child and having so much delight seeing my own daughter finally 'click' with a book. I agree with he sentiment that the name change was a little ridiculous but it does not take anything away from my daughter loving these books so no big complaint there. She has learning difficulties and is 11 years old - up until now we have not been able to find a book that is age appropriate in content and yet also easily readable for her. Got the first 2 for her birthday as was reluctant having bought so many books over the years which still sit in perfect condition and never read on her bookshelf. Finally a book that opens her imagination and enjoyment of reading. Will be getting the third installment for Christmas together with the BBC audio CD as she loves to hear the stories too. Have also reviewed the new Flips! for the DS which looks brilliant and that may also make it into Santa's stocking although I dont want to miss out on reading the books together the old fashioned way. You wont regret this purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent dvd - well worth the £, 8 July 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Having not exercised in first trimester due to feeling so awful, and deciding to try to be a good pregnant mum, I read through all the reviews before selecting this DVD. Very good and a good investment so far although only 16 weeks so have not tried the postnatal one. Does definitely get your heart rate up and is very easy to follow with a very normal preggy mum who is very encouraging without being annoying. Can only agree with all the other 5* reviews and say you wont be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars A favourite of my sons from the age of 6, 29 April 2010
I had to write this review as this was bought for my son when he was 6 years old and he is 8 now. It is a much loved book and a favourite for a little boy who does not read any 'story' books - only interested in facts and information. It is beside his bed all the time and the pages are well turned and the cover shows evidence of a much loved book. My daughter on the other hand does not find it interesting at all- she is 10! If you have a little person who is interested in facts about the world - you cant go wrong - highly recommended

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly Recommended - as if the author lives in my house, 26 Nov. 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
For our 10 year old daughter who suffers with epilepsy and other medical complications - she has tremendous anxiety and this book is brilliant. It has given both parents a way to talk with our daughter without the concern of adding to the anxiety. The simple way it is written and the activities given have been fantastic and although we are not cured, we have been given a very good starting point by this book. If you have a little person who has a lot of worries which are stopping them from enjoying their childhood, I could not recommend this book highly enough. For our daughter it has given her the comfort to know that there are ways to help and that there must be other children out there that have these kinds of issues too.
Cant say more than this but that you will not be disappointed if you have a little worrier who needs a helping hand.
