Yes, this was what I needed to understand how to run Premiere Elements (10/11). It is well written and with logical structure. Language rather strict, and thus leaves less room for misunderstanding - especially if English is not the native language "jokes", and wringling with words make instructions harder to understand.

Definately what I needed (got the color version of the book).

With some good video-clips I got a very good grip on how to use Preiemiere Elements.

5.0 out of 5 stars Someting difficult the easy way!, 30 Jun. 2013

I thought a lot of the stuff that is described in this book, would be very hard to do, especially in a rather inexpensive softfware as Adobe Premiere (10/11), but it proved to be quite easy to follow the instructions, which proved good end results. The only "problem" was having suitable clips for the tests ;)

I could not expect more from these than I would do from Nikon's own but I am very satisfied. I think that cheaper extension tubes that loose the camera's automatic would not satisfy my needs. Standing in a swamp with wellington boots on and mosquitos all around you, and with the lips of an orchid blossom to document. Getting the nices possible photo in a bit lesser time comes in handy. The feel of the extension tubes is less than I would want - But in fact they are more sturdy than they feel. Have had no problems with putting tubes together ir take them apart, and there is no wiggeling felt or seen. My Nikkor lenses perform with these tubes as well as anyone could expect. (I have 35 years of experience with system cameras and extension tubes, but only 18 months with Nikon and 15 months with these tubes).

I use 4 of these these HD:s in a Backup unit with Raid. The drives are silent and when not in use the draw insignificant power. For my use the speed is very good. I have used them now for 7 months and not a problem.

4.0 out of 5 stars There is so much you can do..., 10 Mar. 2013

This review is from: R Graph Cookbook (Paperback)
This is a step by step. First learn to walk before you can run. It used the built in graphs and some add on graph tools - showing you that when you think you're stuck - you might have other options. The examples are really alright and to the point and can be used as templates for your own graphs with only a minimum of changes.

4.0 out of 5 stars As an intro this is really good., 10 Mar. 2013

This lacks some general parts of R intro, but as an intro to statistical analysis with R it does the job. Tested quite a bit of the samples and had no problems getting the expected results. I like the tiny tips on where you can go wrong - and this is a must with a language like R. It shows that R is old, but still useful. So this is a book for those that need to work with R as it is often a standard tool in companies, and such.

I like the way the English language is used in this book, it is creative and not geeky!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but to little..., 10 Mar. 2013

Of the other books on R, this is the shortest. It does give good suggestions for where and what to learn about R, but it is just too short to do the work. Just a few commands is not enought to get you started. 25 tips yes, but to bridge the gap to other books on R it should have had more tips, or more info in each category.

Macro Photography Photo Workshop
Macro Photography Photo Workshop
by Haje Jan Kamps
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars This will get you interested in macro photo!, 23 Feb. 2012
Assuming you have a basic understanding of focus, depth of focus, aperture, f-stops, shutter times, and ISO values and how they are related to each other, including just a bit of focal length - This will mostly seem like a "non technical" book to you! Why I like it so much? It makes you THINK! It makes you think out of the box, igniting your own sparks of ideas! It also gently forces you to do your own applications, in a broad sense, of what is covered in each chapter. It is hard to think of anything regarding macro photo that isn't covered. Also a lot of beautiful and/or thought-provoking pictures, and something about the people that made them. Also, it contains suggestions of where to look for more information.
