1.0 out of 5 stars This live is exceptional but EMI MESSED UP BIG TIME!!!!, 12 Feb. 2012
Don't buy these new reissues from EMI, cause they're messed up big time!!! I'd award 5 stars to the first disc alone of this great live album BUT THERE ARE ANNOYING 5 SECOND GAPS BETWEEN EACH SONG making your listening pleasure not that good while on the first edition the track flowed seamlessly even if taken from different concerts. It's the same defect that ruins the 'new' Vinyl Replica remasters of Shout and Dr. Feelgood: those frigging' 5 second gaps between songs that on original releases were fading into each other. AVOID like the plague and buy the used and corrected versions.

3.0 out of 5 stars Bought this on day one..., 11 Nov. 2011
along with the same titled Blu Ray as every self respecting Rush fan should do! I was eagerly waiting for it since April when I read about the recording of the concert in Cleveland; having loved Snakes And Arrows Live I knew I was in for a treat! Sadly I was partially wrong... the musicianship is of course stellar, the track list faultless (even though I prefer the Snakes one since they unearthed great deep album cuts rarely played live like Digital Man or Mission) but the sound is quite bad; mind you, NOT Rush in Rio bad (what were they thinking?!) but not up to the standards set by R30, Different Stages or the aforementioned Snakes and Arrows Live. Firstly the vocals are weak, the weakest in a Rush live album ever, secondly the mixing isn't spot on either since too much audience noise sometimes spoils the songs. I really don't understand what happened here: OK, it's for sure a LIVE sounding record with only one overdub (the "brain fart" Geddy talks about in the booklet that ruined Presto so that they had to lift the audio performance form another night) but this time a little more polished product would have been better. I would deem this for Rush fanatics only! If you want a recent great live document of this band buy Snakes and Arrows live in Rotterdam, double Cd and Blu Ray: the audio quality is so much better and Geddy voice that night was magnificent!

5.0 out of 5 stars What a perfect night!, 18 Sept. 2011
Counting Crows in Hi Def picture and sound delivering a heartfelt performance of their best record... what more do you want?!!! Adam and the band are on fire in NY; it's a pity they have waited so long to release it since it was recorded in 2007!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent live document of the band in its prime!, 8 Aug. 2011
This review is from: Captured (Audio CD)
This cd contains all the early hits the band had with Steve Perry before making it big with Escape. The songs are all excellent and it's a pity some of them have been overshadowed by the more successful '80s ones. As long as live album goes, for me this is a classic and an excellent companion to the Escape Live in Houston DVD.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best Heart compilation!, 8 Aug. 2011
Great Heart compilation! If you want all the hits from both eras of the band (70s and 80s) on 1 Cd this is the place to go. Other compilation focus only on one period of the band or are excessively exhaustive... this contains all the Heart that I'll ever need!

1.0 out of 5 stars This time it's the book missing!, 8 Aug. 2011
After the heights of Gone Baby Gone come the lows of Moonlight Mile. A book written after the success of the movie, to cash in on a possible sequel. In fact the book plays like a Hollywood script, alas a not very good one. Unbelievable characters, plot holes, very fake "up to date" lingo used especially by the protagonist and tons of syrupy political correctness touching every corner from debt crisis to global warming. The only good thing about this book is the Jagger/Richards quote that opens it, taken from the splendid song that gives this book its title.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic live recording!, 8 Mar. 2011
This review is from: Stripped (Audio CD)
Just a look at the cover showing a lean, mean leather clad band and you know what to expect: The Rolling Stones are back! After a series (a LONG one!) of lackluster albums Voodoo Lounge won the Grammy and put them back on the map, music wise. This is a Live recording but quite a special one: not the usual track listing (actually far from it! Many obscure songs for the uninitiated) from the usual places (i.e. Stadia) but songs performed in a more intimate setting with some rehearsals thrown in for good measure too. I bought the original version the day it was released and I never stopped playing it. Now I bought the remaster to get a nicely improved sound!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Last Classic!, 8 Mar. 2011
This review is from: Brave New World (Audio CD)
This is a great comeback record! Bruce and Adrian rejoining injected fire in the dying (see Virtual XI) Maiden. Everything falls perfectly into place, starting from the amazing Derek Riggs cover to the lengthy 'classic sounding' epics. As much as I like their '00 input (especially last year's The Final Frontier) I reckon they never made a better record since! Brave New World is on par with classics like "Seven Son Of a Seven Son" and "Somewhere In Time"... nuff said!

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing... REALLY!, 17 Oct. 2010
I'm sorry to say this but "Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings" is the worst record Counting Crows have ever made. The first two are MASTERPIECES (especially the 2nd "Recovering The Satellites") but this one is boring... a few good tunes pop up here and there but as a record it's not very consistent. As much as I love CC first four releases (and the "Across The Wire" live album) I wouldn't recommend it even to fans. Better listen to your old Crows records!

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect companion to the excellent CD!, 10 Oct. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
If you've heard the Cd, then it's impossible you haven't become addicted to it the very minute it ended. After a few spins I'm pretty sure you wanted to know more about the creation of this masterpiece... and what's better than this excellent dvd who interviews Tom Petty and all guys responsible for this classic album, together in the studio at the end of the nineties?! It's priceless seeing Campbell, guitar in hand discussing the glories of Here Comes My Girl or Even The Losers! Excellent!
