1.0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY - fake product, & not magsafe 2!, 28 Aug. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This item is not a genuine Apple product, even though the 'by Apple Computer' description would have you believe. The only indication of branding is a title of 'Replacement AC Adapter' on the unit.

Furthermore this is not a magsafe 2 adapter -- the connection is the old magsafe 1 L-shaped connector. More misleading information as the product image on Amazon currently shows a 'true' magsafe 2 connector.

The only accurate piece of the product description is the rating for 85W, although I will not be plugging it in to any laptop to test this supposed claim.

1.0 out of 5 stars 3connect software crashes on startup (Win7 64 + the latest Flash player), 12 May 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Received my dongle this morning and it simply does not work when attempting to use it on a Windows 7 machine. After initial plug-in, all the device drivers automatically install and a manual run of autoplay is then needed to install the 3connect dashboard software (which is used to control the connection). So far so good.

When attempting to actually run the 3connect software however, it crashes at startup with the usual "3connect has failed to start" Windows 7 application crash dialog.

After much googling, this appears to be down to incompatibilities with some combination of Windows 7 64bit, the latest available Flash player software, and 3connect itself (as 3connect uses flash to display quite frankly useless graphics that the tool could very well do without). There does not seem to be any obvious way to fix this though; there is vague mention of updating the 3connect software, however such updated software is both incredibly difficult to find on the 3 site (their in-site search does not return the page) and furthermore does not have a supported version for this particular dongle (the Huawei E353).

The dongle and software do appear to function without issue on a Mac, however.

If you are intending on using this on a Windows 7 machine I would advise you look for an alternate product.

For reference, the 3 page with the 3connect update is: [...]

5.0 out of 5 stars Good quality, sturdy mini stereo extension cable, 31 Jan. 2007
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The previous reviewer mentions the female end is too heavy and ends up pulling ear bud & in-ear headphones out of your ears. I would have to agree with this, however I think the purpose of this extension cable has been misrepresented.

At 5.5m it's a bit too long to carry around for portable DAP, etc. use - however it is perfect for use at a desk or home stereo, where you need a bit of extra reach for your (potentially short-cabled) headphones. I bought this extension cable explicitly for this purpose - I'm using a pair of Sennheiser CX300 in-ear headphones for my mp3 player while walking to work and wanted to continue using them at work with my music collection on my PC (as they're rather good at blocking out external noise ;-). The only trouble with the earphones for this purpose is their short cable length - perfect for DAP use, but not when trying to reach an under-desk PC.

Enter the Belkin mini stereo extension cord... high quality (gold-plated connectors), more than ample length, thick & sturdy cord (shunts off close encounters with the wheels of office chairs!), and resting on a desk or chair arm there's no real issue with the weight pulling out your headphones. If you're looking for a good mini stereo extension cable then this should be all you'll ever need.
