Price: £2.50

2.0 out of 5 stars Gripper Tape Doesn't Grip, 14 Jun. 2014

A useless product. Period. Mainly because it does not grip. Perhaps I bought from a bad batch? It might have other uses however, but certainly nothing to do with carpets or mats.

4.0 out of 5 stars Patio Door Lock, 14 Jun. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Good solid product, but no instructions or dimensions given, and quite hard to fit to get the receiving hole in the door frame in line with the locking bolt.
Good value.

3.0 out of 5 stars Hank at his Best?, 14 Jun. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Hank (Audio CD)
Oh Dear! This is of course the famous Marvin sound by the bucket-load, and the playing is superb as always, but what an unimaginative selection of songs to cover. Much of a much-ness and nothing nearly as good as the covers on LPs such as "Moonlight Shadows".......Where are the today equivalents of his own great compositions and performances such as "Night Nurse" and "Oh Suzie!" that Hank wrote, sang, and played on that wonderful CD "Another side of Hank Marvin."
What about something like "Fender Bender?"
To my mind those who know and admire Hanks writing ability, and who will have been looking forward to this CD, will be disappointed to hear nothing but covers of other peoples material, with the one exception of "Summer Guitar" which stands out in what is really a bit of a pot-boiler of a record, where I suspect the record company will have made the choice of content as opposed to Mr Marvin himself.
Nonetheless it will go into the car CD player, and no doubt be heard every day.
One for the collection!

Remington R7150 Black Diamond X Rotary Shaver
Remington R7150 Black Diamond X Rotary Shaver
Offered by Executivez
Price: £87.95

2.0 out of 5 stars Remington Rotary Shaver, 10 Jun. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Prior to buying this I asked for advice from Amazon customers and it was all pretty favourable. My own experience is not so joyful and uncritical, as I find this shaver clumsy and hard to use.
The three rotating heads are moveable, just like my old Philishave, which is fine, but the head in which they are mounted also moves, which causes them to judder and skip and fail to properly follow face contours. Why this entire head has to move I really don't know. It would work better in a fixed position.
The speed of the cutters is also low, and the ability to hold a battery charge is poor. Three shaves and it is down from 60 to 20 on the scale that shows the state of charge.
The actual ability to shave is good however, once you have got used to the judder, slow blades, and awkwardness.
This product was on offer for £30 at my local Lidl Supermarket recently, which I think says it all.
Not one of my better purchases, and I propose to discard it and buy a new Philishave.

Scottish Motor Racing and Drivers: One Hundred Years of Scotland's Involvement with Motor Racing
Scottish Motor Racing and Drivers: One Hundred Years of Scotland's Involvement with Motor Racing
by Graham Gauld
Edition: Hardcover

4.0 out of 5 stars History of Scottish Motorsport and Drivers, 10 Jun. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A must have book for those interested in Scottish motorsport, and a fine work of reference. The critical might be aware of some errors, and typos are plentiful, but this does not distract from the quality of the work.
Photographs everywhere, some rare and previously unseen.
And a bargain at the price.
Buy it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Moving On - Getting Control of the Banking System in a new Scotland, 5 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Moving on (Paperback)
This book outlines the golden opportunity to an independent Scotland to rid itself of a banking system that creates the public money supply as debt and at interest, but I fear its hugely important message will be ignored by those who are presently manhandling the independence movement on the basis of a series of falsehoods driven by the political ambition of a few, regardless of the consequences.
It specifically describes the advantage of Scotland having a new currency, as opposed to the £ and the €
It also serves as an excellent summary of the present and past political and economic situation, if a bit biased to the left, and it rather ignores the damage that two periods of profligate and inept socialism have left us to recover from, but that is perhaps outwith the remit of this work.
A great read, expert and knowledgeable, and great value for money.

Making It Happen: Fred Goodwin, RBS and the Men Who Blew up the British Economy
Making It Happen: Fred Goodwin, RBS and the Men Who Blew up the British Economy
by Iain Martin
Edition: Hardcover
Price: £18.95

4.0 out of 5 stars Greedy Bankers, 6 Mar. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A rattling good yarn about the collapse of RBS, but the most important point, which is that banks create the money supply from thin air is missed.
Anyway, a good read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Epson Ink, 6 Mar. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Epson ink is expensive, but the compatible products are - in my experience - pretty useless, as they don't perform as well and soon gunge up the printer.
But Epson do seriously need to look at their pricing. This supplier was keen at £43 for the four cartridges, but that is still a quarter of what the Epson printer cost to buy new, with starter cartridges already fitted.
There is therefore now an economic argument for buying a cheap Epson printer, and using cheap compatibles until the printer fails to give good results, and then just buying another printer and repeating the process, which is what a few people now already do.
So wake up Epson!

The Triumph of the Political Class
The Triumph of the Political Class
by Peter Oborne
Edition: Paperback

4.0 out of 5 stars Truth about politicians, 3 Feb. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Read this and your eyes will open. It shows how - starting with Blair's Labour government of 1997 - politicians of all colours have basically come together to protect themselves and to their political careers which have very little to do with serving the electorate.
Oborne explains and shows with examples how democracy is now almost non-existent, as the career politicians have destroyed all the democratic processes to rule via the media and for their own personal benefit.
An excellent read. Gripping.
