3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as it could have been..., 18 Jan. 2004
This review is from: Prince Valium (Audio CD)
OK, here is the new project fom (ex-Ugly Kid Joe) Withfield Crane and (ex-Machine Head) Logan Mader. Decent songs, not as brutal as MH and definitely not as fun and melodic as UKJ... Actually, the whole sounds a bit depressing, it's a kind of goth-rock a la Paradise Lost mixed with a bit of Nu-Metal : disappointing.

3.0 out of 5 stars Could have been better., 18 Jan. 2004
I just think that the 1st solo of album is better. Of course, Bobby's Jarzombek drumming is still fantastic, Roy Z's production is still great, and the Metal God himself is in top form... but the songwriting is not that great. Good Heavy Metal album anyway.

4.0 out of 5 stars Butch is back., 18 Jan. 2004
This review is from: Left of Self-Centered (Audio CD)
The mastermind of the Marvelous 3 is back with a great solo album. The cover of this CD might be hideous, but it hides a fantastic solo album, with good melodic pop rock appealing to fans of the Marv 3. The top-notch production is due to the man himself, the lyrics are fun and clever : it's all good baby !

5.0 out of 5 stars Great band, great album !, 18 Jan. 2004
This review is from: The Uncrowned (Audio CD)
3rd album for these guys from Sweden. The guitar player is the mastermind of the band and he's a genius of his own kind : just imagine Yngwie Malmsteen with a more original approach, not only repetitive neoclassical licks. Well, the singer is far from being bad either, he's got a powerful yet very melodic voice. Actually, this CD is full of great melodic metal tracks, don't look for any filler : you just won't find any ! My favourite tracks are Sacrifice and April Sky/Sound of Rain. A must have for fans of melodic metal.
