A well written and readable book but with a blue tinge which leads to some rather sarcastic anti-Labour comments and clearly very little knowledge of what happened in the labour camp (all seemingly gleaned from Mandleson's autobiog). Also rather short on analysis and would have benefitted from an exposition of the actual mathematics of the voting situation (ie seats / votes by party) and also from a high level description of what AV and AV plus are - would have saved having to do some online research in to something that was actually key to the negotiations. Clearly though the Cons won and have effectively allowed the LibDems to destroy themselves but it was interesting that the Cons clearly thought that the electorate might support AV when in fact it was crushingly rejected. I think history will probably be a lot harsher on the protagonists, especially Clegg.
