5.0 out of 5 stars Great book!! Not just for beginners......, 13 Nov. 2013

informative, easy to read and not exactly breaking the bank. I can't think of any reason why someone wouldn't buy this book....

As suggested this is a excellent read for beginners who have perhaps attended one or two classes and feel they could do with a little extra information or guidance to help them out on the mats for those first few awkward weeks and rolls.

This isn't a book filled with secret training techniques or ancient words of wisdom that will make you better overnight. Its simply a few pages laying out the fundamentals of grappling and Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ).

Everyone remembers that feeling when they first started out, that if they just had that little extra knowledge of what was going on, they could do a bit more on the mat. Well then, this book is that knowledge....

One on one time with a coach learning the "ropes" might not be practical or cheap!!, so this is a great alternative that can give you what you need without the hassle and at your own leisure.

This books isn't just for beginners also but for the coaches looking to better understand what to teach someone day one on the mats.

It can be hard going from teaching 15-20 regular students the technique of that week to given the BJJ newbie in the gym something to do that will benefit him, outside of being a grappling dummy for the day. So using this book will give more than enough material for you to take from and structure an easy 20 minute "class plan" for the new man on the mat.
