4.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating, but where was the editor???, 7 Jan. 2013

This a very informative book and well worth buying, covering all kinds of details and curiosities that you won't find in other books and you which could walk right past otherwise (as I had, many times).

Added to that there is the truly comical lack of editing. One entry is in twice under different headings, and liberally sprinkled throughout the book are examples of two words or phrases with very similar meanings stuck together ("at the construction stageIn planning the site", "in the ditchDry moat to the left", "one of the best equipped ofat the time" suggesting over-reliance on some translation program.

I have used several guidebooks in this series and they are all worth buying, though not all are as entertaining to the would-be proof reader.

Apart from the rather cheap feel and the inconvenience of having to use a cable if you want the vertical shutter release (I haven't bothered with it) this does the job very well.
It is extremely good value for money - just be careful to read the instructions first. If you attach it with the batteries in, you get a warning message saying it is not compatible. Attach it to the camera first, then put in the batteries.
As I said, it feels a bit cheap - but it is cheap. It gives the camera a much better shape, especially for big hands.

It's a shame Nikon don't produce their own, but this works well and is excellent value for money.
