Really good quality and I particularly like that you can easily take it on and off. This allows you to set focus and exposure in the normal way before applying the filters

Good concept and starts off well but sadly the story peters out towards the end.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't dither, just buy it, cos you won't regret it!, 15 Jan. 2016

Very little to say on this product. Very easy to apply (easier than flexible versions), no visibility issues, doesn't affect the touchscreen. I used it on an Olympus EM10 Mark ii

Can't advise on long term viability, but to all intents and purposes these seem as good as the Olympus version, and you get two to boot!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not worth it, 15 Jan. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Not a waste of money, but equally not a very valuable as a manual. In general it is only slightly better than the standard manual and the supercharging is entirely down to understanding the options for different settings in the 'Mysets' feature of the camera. Where it is really disappointing is in the updates for the Mark 2 version of the camera. This is very poorly integrated within the book and the reader is frequently left confused as to which version the commentary applies to. This could have been so easily overcome by simply changing the colour of the text where it applied to the new version of the camera. I would not recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great alternative for the expensive Olympus version, 23 Nov. 2015

Very reasonably priced alternative to the Olympus version. Works fine with Olympus EM10ii and plug is a firm fit in the socket. Works a treat.

5.0 out of 5 stars Having just used it on a week's excursion to the Lake District I have to say this lens is fantastic. Great, 6 Oct. 2015

I swithered between the olympus 11mm lens and the 9-18mm. Ultimately I opted for the 9-18mm for its flexibilty. Having just used it on a week's excursion to the Lake District I have to say this lens is fantastic. Great, simply because it gives you options on the focal length and despite having other lens options I found I used this lens 70% of the time. It is sharp enough for general use and I highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really good, Really pleased, 3 Nov. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Still relatively new, but working well and so small! I now use the passport ultra to store all my photographs when using Lightroom. Unfortunately I do not benefit from USB 3.0, however the performance is still very good. I may get another to act as the backup.

Acoustic Guitar Making: the Steel String Guitar
Acoustic Guitar Making: the Steel String Guitar
by Nick Blishen
Edition: Hardcover
Price: £22.50

2.0 out of 5 stars Nowhere near as good as other established constuction manuals, 3 Nov. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I own over 6 books on making steel string guitars including those by; William Cumpiano, Jonny Kinkead and Alex Willis, and I have made 3 guitars from scratch using these excellent reference books.
I was tempted to buy this Nick Blishen book by the 5 star reviews it had received, and was also thinking that as a more recent publication it would bring something new and fresh. Sadly, I can’t believe that Mr Blishen actually read any of the above mentioned guitar making manuals before deciding on the format and presentation of his manual. If he had, he could have produced a top notch construction guide. Unfortunately, this is a poorly implemented manual which brings nothing new and sorely lacks the clarity and detail of the manuals by the other authors. The quality of the colour photography is poor, there are insufficient detailed photographs, and there are no step-by-step text/photo references to explain the complex construction elements. Additionally, although the author discusses various guitar types there is no guitar plan included and therefore no dimensions, nor is there anywhere a simple exploded view of how the total guitar components fit together.
Mr Blishen is clearly a skilled craftsman, his manual is not all bad, and I can understand students buying the manual if they are participating on one of his courses. However, given the quality of the manuals by other authors – which have all been around for several years – his book adds nothing, fails to inspire confidence, and simply pales in comparison to the books by other authors identified above.
If you want to build a guitar, any one of the other construction manuals mentioned will give you clear step-by-step notes, greater detail and much better guidance and clarity. Moreover, they will excite and inspire you in ways which this manual simply fails to get anywhere near. My personal recommendation would be the manual by Jonny Kinkead, but the others are also good.
