5.0 out of 5 stars ... is a Welsh language novel for teenagers but I enjoyed it as an adult, 20 Aug. 2014

this is a Welsh language novel for teenagers but I enjoyed it as an adult! Two teenagers are transported back in time from a snowy mid Wales to the same area, near Dolgellau, four hundred year previously where the notorious red haired gang of bandits and outlaws ruled known as Gwylltiaid Mawddwy ... Gwylltiaid being the Welsh word for outlaws in this context. In the novel the children, armed with their 21st century iPad and phone which bedazzles the outlaws and their clothes are also suspect, experiences life in mid 16th century rural Wales and eat what they are given .. such as squirrel and crow stew .... or starve ...fascinating and the author, Bethan Gwanas, who hails from the same area, is already making a name for herself in Welsh language literature with her popular writing and commentaries ... this book I commend ... it is excellent
