First - not the fault of Black & Decker or Amazon - delivery arrived when I was out of earshot of doorbell. Driver lobbed the box over a 6ft gate to land on concrete. He had several alternative options had he used common sense. Never mind, I thought, Amazon packing is good and the battery should be well protected. Wrong. Box was stuffed with the usual brown paper, none of which surrounded the battery which was lying unprotected in a corner. (Later discovered a crack in the casing on the underside of the item but by then I had already used it briefly as a test.) The item ordered was stated to be 1.3Ah capacity. My original was 1.7Ah. A purchaser in 2011 complained that capacity had fallen from 1.7 to 1.5Ah. It now appears to have been reduced again. EXCEPT that the battery itself is marked as 1.2Ah -- not as described on Amazon. And to heap on the insults, the bubble container states capacity of 1.5Ah!!

This is infuriating. Black & Decker should be ashamed and Amazon should get their facts right. Won't bother to return the battery. Voting with my feet.

This is a great little (112 page) book, particularly for those thinking about starting beekeeping or have recently taken the step. The authors have avoided offering too much detail, which could swamp and discourage even the stout hearted. Practical advice, gentle humour and lovely illustrations make the volume an easy and pleasurable read. A nice touch is the summary of dealing with a swarm - quick reference that starts with the words "Don't panic...."!
