5.0 out of 5 stars The Terminator 2 disc special edition 2001, 4 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
this quick review is for the:

The Terminator 2 disc special edition 2001 UK

this release is almost identical to the USA region 1 release with a difference

its been butchered!

lots of special features but the movie its self has been edited and tweaked all over the place. its not the movie diehard fans will remember

soundtrack/audio has been re dubbed.
screams/gunshots are not where they once where. dialog has been removed and re added in places not needed

for example.

remember the "future war" information at the start? its not a subtitle at the bottom of the screen.

remember the lorry driver sitting in his cab at the start and when the terminator appears he goes "what the hell?"...he now says it twice despite his mouth not moving.

scenes at the end are also edited

for the BEST dvd release
you want the region 1 USA 2 disc edition.
no cuts, no edits no re dubs

The Evil Dead Trilogy [DVD]

Dvd ~ Bruce Campbell

5.0 out of 5 stars The Evil Dead - Trilogy Boxset - Anchor bay, 4 May 2013
This review is from: The Evil Dead Trilogy [DVD] (DVD)
The amazon information for this box set is correct.
the runtime is a little off as with every dvd out there.

for a UK release this release of evil dead and evil dead 2 is probs the best you can get.
each disc has its own special features and is in a ratio that will fit your widescreen tv perfectly with no black bars above and below.

also comes with a 4th bonus disc full of features.

HOWEVER. disc 3. army of darkness is POINTLESS.
the movie is great but to date there is no decent release of this movie on DVD uncut.

even though this disc is somewhat full and uncut its still missing a 2 second clip. 2 seconds means nothing to some people but to diehard fans it will bother you.

the format is messed up, no setting will remove the black bars that run around the whole picture. some scenes are clear crisp shots, other scenes then zoom in and go very grainy.

best army of darkness on dvd is the very rare full uncut release by MGM which is a hong kong import.

5.0 out of 5 stars Halloween 3 Season Of The Witch - scanbox release 2011, 4 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
If your looking at this amazon listing, more then likely you have seen the film and just want a review on the best releases/uncut releases

this review is for the scanbox 2011 release.
is it still CUT.

also the 2002 widescreen release is also cut.

for an uncut release you want the 2000 MIA release. fully uncut but 4:3 ratio
that is the ONLY uncut UK release

in the USA i believe every release is uncut. so take your pick
best USA release is the 2012 shout factory release.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nightmare On Elm Street Collection Region 1 Boxset, 4 May 2013
Needs to be strongly noted that this boxset is all 7 movies
however it is region 1 USA
and it IS cut.
to date on DVD there is no uncut release of nightmare 1 and 5

you can only find full uncut releases on early VHS and laserdisc

3.0 out of 5 stars The movies are great the dvds are not, 20 Jan. 2012
as amazon frequently mix up reviews, i am reviewing the:

"Batman Motion Picture Anthology 1989 - 1997"

NOT blueray

I wont review the films because almost everyone has seen them and i cant stand people reviewing old films instead of the way its released, E.G special features or picture quality

As this is one of the most recent releases of the movies i would have thought the picture and sound would be almost perfect,

so far i have only watched "batman" from this boxset but half way through the sound goes quiet and the picture glitches like a movie from the 1930's, like lines and white spots appearing all over the picture

its almost like they took the original movie straight from those huge film reels, and put it straight to disk. it has not been restored

this is poor for a new release.

5.0 out of 5 stars Number 5 is ALIVE, 18 Jan. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Short Circuit 2 [DVD] [1988] (DVD)
i am not going to do a huge review on this film because everyone knows who number 5 is, come on!

i love this movie, as well as the first. its one of my all time faves. one thing that bothers me is when litle kids say this film is a rip off of WALL-E.....other way around kids.

WALL-E is good to ut thats another story

IF you have not seen this, get it, its a classic.

one problem is, now i dont know if this is the same for everyone else, or just me

my dvd hasa glitch, or atleast i hope it is a glitch and not a poor edit.
there is a scene where number 5 anoys a guy playing cards on the street, he guy starts pushing number 5 and say "get this mother outa my face outa my face!"

on my dvd he goes "get this outa my face outa my face outa my face"
i really hope this isnt a piss poor edit,

one other thing is thats pretty clear, probs for the best but is a pain when they do this sort of thing
on the vhs, there is a scene where you can see a huge rope attched to johnny 5's back wheel, on the dvd they have removed this rope...anoying when you want to remember your childhood memories of this film

Nightmare on Elm Street 1984 - Freddy Prop Replica Glove Size 1:1 Scale
Nightmare on Elm Street 1984 - Freddy Prop Replica Glove Size 1:1 Scale

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful
4.0 out of 5 stars THIS!.... IS GOD!, 17 Jan. 2012
OK well i received my glove a few days ago, so far so good

This glove is based on the one used in "A Nightmare On Elm Street" 1984
Its not bad, it does look a lot like it, its not 100% screen accurate but near enough

NECA have gone to a lot of trouble to get the details right, even though they have done a cross between nightmare 1 and nightmare 2

The glove its self is quite a soft leather and they have given it a dirty oil look

They have even gone to the trouble of giving a break in the blade like in the movie, but the blades are a thin soft metal, be careful, these will bend easy

The metal is not copper and brass but its copper plated steel

The rings on the fingers are quite accurate but are in a silly place, it is very hard to move the fingers because of where the rings are fixed, all these gloves have the same problem. the ring finger just keeps slipping off, you need pretty big hands to move this with no problems

You will find that the fingers dont move well, the rivets holding the glove together are to tight, take a thin knife and slightly pull the rivets apart, the glove will move fine after.

And be aware the glove looks a little different to the one used in the promo photos.

It also comes on a pretty hard black plastic hand display which is a nice touch

Anyone that is a die hard fan will notice all the little details added and its not to hard to make a few modifications to it to get the glove to fit better

By the way, a big difference between the promo photo and the actual prop is that the leather glove is torn open, and its held together by a safety pin, this is actually correct, the real glove tor open and they used a safety pin to quickly fix it.

Over all its not bad, for the price its good enough but there are many MANY people out there that make more accurate gloves, but they cost a little more

You can find this prop cheaper, shop around

Joe Browns Great Coat

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Coat!, no pun intended, 10 Jan. 2012
This review is from: Joe Browns Great Coat (Apparel)
These are based on the RAF Great Coat, and are VERY close to the real thing.
You can get these coats in grey or navy blue. i own the blue.
very warm but quite light weight.
The sizing is a bit odd, i have always been a medium but even a size small is quite large on me but fits well enough.
I did not buy this coat from amazon, nor did i pay £110, shop around
"GEEK" moment, wearing this coat don't half make you feel like your part of TORCHWOOD.

The only nag i have with this coat is i wish it was longer! and the shoulder straps could do with being longer to.

But its a awesome coat.
