5.0 out of 5 stars Virgin customer, product working fine, 21 May 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Really easy to set up with the Zmodo app, i have a Virgin dual band router so the warnings about this not working didnt apply. The set up was very fast, took less than a minute and now i can use my phone to see live footage, record still shots and speak to people in the room. The product itself feels very sturdy and well built. Mine is a standalone and sits on top of the bookcase and looks fine but for wallmounting im not too sure it would look ok. So far im impressed.

5.0 out of 5 stars working with a Virgin media customer with a dual band router., 21 May 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Im no stranger to this type of camera having been the owner of a dissapointing brand before. This Zmodo camera is very easy to set up and works very well. The reviews said that this wouldn't work with MOST virgin media routers but i have one of the new dual band type which works with both 5 and 2.4Ghz. The camera sets up very quickly with the straightforward app and is giving a good reliable picture. Ive had a few alerts sent to me (I caused them all) and am able to see both in daylight and at night. So far so good.

5.0 out of 5 stars So far so easy, 25 May 2011
Lets get to the point, I am not sufficiently knowledgeable to write this item's first review and quote technical stuff, not with any meaning or without copying from the items description anyway, but what I can tell you is what arrived and whether it works.
I received a 2 x socket USB 3.0 card as described, a PSU link cable which provides power from the PSU to the card but is a double so you lose nothing, and a driver CD (home made as far as I can tell).

I can also tell you that installing was extremely easy and there were some pretty decent written instructions in the box also.

The USB 3.0 sockets work and I wrote some files to my external drive at speeds of up to 43 Kb/s before I stopped the test, this compares with about 8 to my USB 2.0 so the new USB is definitely quicker.

I have a Medion PC which is about 3 years old if that makes any difference (some reviews of other products said different ages of PC's will make a difference) I had a spare PCI express slot on the mother board so it all went swimmingly.

Oh and the price was low to boot so I am happy indeed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wrong Side of the Atlantic, 3 Dec. 2010
The book is very interesting but it is written by an American for Americans not for the British.
Examples are types of dog food the author says are good for huskies tummies, these brands are not available over here.

Geography aside, the book offers some real insights into the Husky breed and in many ways helped prepare me for my new arrivals (2x 8 month old Siberians from a re homing centre). The book is definitely worth buying but probably not at the full new price due to parts of the book being worthless.

I have used some of the techniques described and they have worked, I have had the dogs 3 weeks now and I think it is probably worth reading it again now I know their foibles (although there is an index if there is something specific to check up on).

If you are new to Siberians or are considering getting them for the fist time please do your research (buy this book or one of the many others available) Sibes are wonderful dogs that are truly unique and very beautiful but there is a price to pay, make sure you know that before leaping in and getting them, they deserve for everything to be right before they arrive). When the book and all of the websites say they need MINIMUM 2 hours exercise a day it means they need MINIMUM 2 hours exercise a day, less than that and they will rip your house down the minute your back is turned, it is not their fault for this is what they need and it is well documented (in this book). They really can climb fences, jump over six foot and dig like a JCB, again pay attention as they WILL escape (mine did on day 1). They DO shed their coat (1 pillowcase full EACH per day for 2 weeks in spring)
There are so many pro's to Huskies but the cons don't go away just because they have a pretty face so only get one if you fully understand what you are getting yourself into, sadly too many end up being rehomed or killed on the road because the owners didn't pay attention to books like this one. If you can do all it says in this book then get one, you will be in for 15 years of bliss.

5.0 out of 5 stars Made the hairs stand up on my neck, 3 Sept. 2010
I have recently started a new job which means I have to travel into London frequently, the job itself is on the railways so I have an interest in their construction, of course one of the most fascinating railways is the London Underground.
I saw the end of a program on TV about Ghosts on the underground and being a bit of a believer decided I should read up on the subject, hence this book.
The book itself is quite thin and glossy and at first I was a little disappointed that it wasn't a bigger volume, I was not disappointed once I began to read.
There is a very brief description of what a Ghost could be, a tiny bit of history of the underground and then on to the main event - the ghosts.
The book goes through the main hauntings in a decent amount of detail, the history of the ghost when alive is interesting as are the accounts of witnesses to the spooks themselves. Some of the stories are a little frightening, some are deeply moving and one cant help feeling sad for some of those who's appalling treatment when alive traumatized them to the point that they are left to walk the tunnels for infinity, one such ghost is Anne Naylor, a young girl whose ghost walks the station at Farringdon, sobbing as she goes, her torment eternal due to the treatment she received on this earth, her story brings a tear to the eye (how can humans do that to each other).
Towards the end of the book the stories and accounts reduce from several pages to perhaps one paragraph of speculation about what MAY lurk at some of the other stations.
I read this book on the train to London and aside from enjoying the stories I took great amusement from some of the looks I was being given by fellow passengers who were not going to catch the bus to the office as I do!!
Well worth reading, weaker towards the end but leaves you wanting to know more, isn't that the idea of a good book?
