2.0 out of 5 stars Should have overload cutout, 21 Nov. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The packaging does warn you not to overload the unit, but this is easy to say and not to easy to achieve - result, with the USB in use plus 2 of the cigarette sockets - one for a laptop - it blew up. Great while it lasted, but it didn't last long and it really ought to have something in-built to stop it being overloaded.

I have an iPad 2 and this cover fits the bill very nicely thank you - really pleased I didn't buy the Apple one given the price difference. OK, it's not really leather, but to me it has a distinctive quality look and feel, and all ports, cameras, switches etc.. are accessible.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but...., 19 Oct. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Having read and really enjoyed Niamh's earlier books, I was looking forward to this new one. I did enjoy it, however I found it not quite as laugh out loud funny as the Housewife stories. All the books could be described as lightweight, but this book is perhaps more lightweight than the earlier ones.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well, that's a surprise..., 14 May 2010

This review is from: One Step At A Time (Audio CD)
Like many people, I was really taken aback by this album and Mr Rossi's solo gigs. This is unbelievably good. However don't expect Quo, you have to approach it with an open mind and then you'll float away on a delicious, irresistible mix of melodic pop/rock/blues. Just magic..

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but not as good as the "Housewife" books, 20 Nov. 2009
This review is from: Letters to a Love Rat (Paperback)
I enjoyed this book, but felt a tinge of disappointment that it didn't quite reach the comic levels of the housewife books, or may be I just miss Susie ? Hope she's back soon.

5.0 out of 5 stars 50% Rubbish 50% Fantastic, 20 Nov. 2009
Well this book seems to have split everyone down the middle, but I have to say I'm with those who really like it. A thoroughly enjoyable read and highly recommended as long as you're not looking for something off a University recommended reading list.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't agree with the one stars - thoroughly enjoyable, 20 Nov. 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Well, all I can say is that I have thoroughly enjoyed both of Niamh Greene's housewife books. I didn't expect high literature, just pure entertainment and that's what I got ! So, if that's what you're looking for you won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, 31 July 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Writing a bit flat ? I couldn't agree less, this is a great read. The format is unusual (intermingled differing/contrasting points of view from the 2 adults - while not letters it reminds me of Les Liaisons Dangereuses), and the (true) story moves forward nicely with a readable leisurely style. Interesting and enlightening (for me anyway) observations about France, WWII, other boat travellers, and also about the change/development of the main characters.
Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Careful.., 31 July 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a good book. The problem is the expectations of all those who read and enjoyed the fantastic Slummy Mummy and are looking for more of the same - they're not going to get it. This book is very different, but it is still a good book, beautifully written once again. The themes however are more grown up and almost psychological, a sort of 30 something analysis of adult relationships, misunderstandings, motivations, so the uplifting humour and pace of Slummy Mummy just aren't there. So, if you don't want to read about that sort of thing, then you will be disappointed, approach it more open minded and you may get more out of it. I enjoyed it, but I too would go for Slummy Mummy if I had to choose between them
